I have a question.......I don't get brake fade but on hot days I do start to lose pedal.

I run ATE superblue and Carbotech XP10 pads.

Do any of you start to lose the solid pedal feel after a few hard laps?

(my front calipers are brown and yellow)

That's brake fade from fluid.

I heard RRE and Vishnu never use helper springs for their ohlins. Where did you get yours from?

You're confusing helper springs with tender springs. See this for clarification:

The latest Ohlins R&T for the Evo come with helper springs. The RRE and Vishnu Ohlins did not have the helper springs because they were based on the previous generation. By now they have probably moved on to the newer generation (although supply is low).

I got mine from Works in January.

Edit: The newer ones are made in Japan.

Another option to duct work is a full BBK. The good ones (RacingBrake, Stoptech, Stasis/Alcon) all dissipate heat so much better than the stock parts that duct work isn't necessary for tires with less grip than Hoosiers (hoosiers might be fine too - waiting for more info).

Hagakure and I both use the RacingBrake BBK with Hawk DTC pads and haven't had any fade problems with ATE Type200/Superblue.

Is this the one you got from Work (stage3)?

Did great in 100F+ ambient heat at buttonwillow yesterday. No brake fade or brake feel change. Until my headgasket shut down the party. 230F water temps and 280F oil temps = all my warning lights on my greddy gauges coming on. Not fun luckily I caught it before I had to tow the car 280miles home.
Two questions if you do not mind:

1. Are the pads you are using good enough for hard track driving or are they for beginners/intermediate drivers. I wanted to get some Hawk Blues for my EVO, but now I am thinking that the pad cannot handle a heavy/fast car such as the EVO. My option is to get the Hawk HT-14. Is the PMU 900 like the HT-14?

2. Why did your car overheat? Is this common for the EVO in the buttonwillow/Willow summer heat? Would an upgraded radiator (Koyo/Pwr) solve this problem?

call it a hunch, but i'm guessing it has something to do with the "Until my headgasket shut down the party"

Yes, although I have changed the spring rates. Probably going to change again soon.

I recommend the Hawk DTC60 or DTC70 over the Blue or HT-14. Higher MOT, better pedal feel, and easier-to-remove dust.
