Muellerized JIC Coil overs and rear sway bar - set alignment with 1 degree more negative camber on outside wheels, depending on if track is CW or CCW

Project mU front and rear brake pads, Centric slotted front rotors, Motul 600 brake fluid.

This is more of a backroad setup, but I've done well over ten track days with this spec.
Ferodo DS2500 Pads
Goodridge SS brakelines
Motul 600

I use the stock suspension on my 2003 Evo VIII. A proper 4-wheel alignment with careful camber, castor, and toe settings transformed the car from an understeery beast to a very well-balanced cornering machine. I'm looking into puttng on a slightly stiffer rear bar just to eliminate that very last whiff of understeer under power. But it hasn't been a priority.

As for brakes, the stock calipers are just fine. I've replaced the stock rotors with custom 2-piece floating rotors with directional vanes. And I swap out my street pads for real track pads, like Carbotech XP-9/10 or Performance Friction PF-97. I also use proper high-temp fluid, like Motul RBF 600. And I've thrown on Goodridge s.s. lines just for the hell of it (I noticed no difference between these and the stock rubber flex lines).

Oops! I was thinking of my dedicated track car. On my street Evo, I don't have adjustible castor. I only was able to adjust camber and toe. But it made a huge difference, especially at corner entry.

Ahh, I thought you found a secret adjustment somewhere. These cars do benefit hugely from a proper setting up, that's for sure.

Performance friction 2 piece front rotors
PMU MAX900 front pads
PMU Titan Kai rear pads
Motul 600 fluid
RRE braided lines
Front dust shields off

Apexi coilovers
Whiteline rear sway
Rear arm bushings
-2.7 front camber
-1.3 rear camber
255/40/17 RA1s

The PMU MAX900 are the best pads I have used so far in the last 1.5yrs of tracking the evo. The best thing of all is that they are cheap.

Did great in 100F+ ambient heat at buttonwillow yesterday. No brake fade or brake feel change. Until my headgasket shut down the party. 230F water temps and 280F oil temps = all my warning lights on my greddy gauges coming on. Not fun luckily I caught it before I had to tow the car 280miles home.
