nah... wifey's B-day weekend. It's not ALL about cars/racing.
LOL yeah, Tom, not titanium filters... but I've got extras if the whole crew wants me to bring some to VIR (...since I've gotta work instead of drive... sofrigginangry...)
Where's all the DE3ers and 4ers? I'm tryin' ta get some rides at VIR lol. I dunno if I'll be able to bring the lancer.... and it's just sad to be at a track and not get around it in a lancer
(Tom, you know you're target numero uno
)

nukblazi, I'm sorry to expose your moment of shame. I don't remember if you were at the NASA track day a few years back when I blew an intercooler pipe off my Evo -- TWICE. The second time it blew, I was maybe at turn 5, and I had to get towed back to the pits. I basically ruined the whole 20-minute session for everyone.

I put RS-R springs on my car and most of my body roll went away.

I don't hate ya dan. I just understand why there were so many subarus at the last Mach V meeting! lol subaru lover.
swing by and say hey to us cool guys some time.
No problem Dan. You saved me the trouble of posting the pics myself, and spared the public the images of a basically new IX duct taped and zip-tied together. I had it all worked out in my head until I hit the concrete. The best part was arguing with the M3 owner in the class about whether or not I was driving too hard.
Honki, so long as Dan U. says ok you are welcome to the passenger seat @ VIR. I've only done the full course though... I don't know what to expect from the rest of the north course...
Not sure what to think about VIR without Oaktree, TomsSound.

I went off in T1, straightened it out for the gravel pit. I drilled a hole in the front valance and zip tied it back onto the bumper.
I also used zip ties to hold what was left of the aero tray on the car. Duct taped the side and front supporting the zip tie.
Dan from Mach V was kind enough to catch me limping back to the pits to repair

i dunno.. i had fun... i liked climbing the hill there..
you'll reach the top and the car will be weightless... good times... just have to open up the wheel a little at the top.

It was a Miata on the outside, me in the middle, and an E30 M3 on the inside. I didn't say it was a good decision, but fun none the less... ask Honki
I was being conservative... I had to drive her home.

bah, 3 wide no problemo in T1; now, three wide in T9 down thru T10 at warp speed, that gets the blood pumping a bit

check this link from last year; i am driving my "backup" racecar, for when the "primary" H1 car is broken down; i'm in the white ford probe gt (practically totally stock except for safety gear); the camera is in rosen's se-r cup racer.

the video is pretty action packed; lots of side by side and super close driving! i think around minute 8 or 9 somewhere in there is when the T9-T10 and down the straight playing chicken in the brake zones takes place......
couple weeks ago at summit during the Stinger race, the first 5 or 6 of us H1 guys were going side by side in all the turns, duking it out for position; i was right there until about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way thru the race and my front left upper control arm started coming apart. i had a scary ride down the chute all on the dirt at 120 mph next to the wall! shot across T5 and straight thru to T8. thats a ROUGH ride at triple digit speed, mang! car is a bit beat up but should be fixed up OK for VIR next week.
see you guys there!!!!
todd
PS i ran a 1:25.0 on sunday before the suspension failed. (didn't run on sat due to electrical gremlins).
killer video! it's alot more fun in a cage (car) when you're not looking at bustin yourself up if something goes awry.
i guess for bikes it is a little different. if you are not on the concrete in turn one on a bike, you're in trouble. even on a 600, you're finishing braking from over 150 entering turn one.
again, awsome video... i wish i could afford to race a car
guess hpde will have to do for now
