How long are you spending on the track each day Dustin? I'm getting about 1-3 hours, but mostly 1-2 hours. If you're about the same, and your car weighs less than stock I guess you should pick up a set of VR specs and try them out.

Anyway, how are the DS3000s?

PF97 front pads, stock rotors.
Yup, they make fireworks at nights.

That's interesting news. I'll inform the guys around here that have set some class records at MSR with those pads over 1000's of total laps. EDIT: both with Evos...

Sorry...yes, on Evos, edited. These were used with a few different rotor combinations, though. They were very hard on most rotor choices these guys used like the PF or StopTech. They eventually decided to go easier on the rotors and went with other pads like 97's, or DS3000. One guy is now running a Brake Man BBK with their pads...not sure what the other is running these days.

The PF pads from RRE had decent initial bite, were very easy to modulate (not so on/off), but couldn't stand up to aggressive braking w/o some fade.
The Project Mu level max 900 pads have significantly better inital bite and also handled the heat better. My last set did look pretty bad (surface cracking/crumbling) after my last track day and some "wait until you see God" braking.
Next up will be the Carbotech XP12's.

I had BAD pad transfer problems with the DS3000's. Other than that they were great. I ran PFC-01's last weekend and they performed very well, but I boiled the fluid in every session...

The 3000s arent bad. They bite really hard, and fight against fade pretty well. Then again, the 2500s don't fade if you are driving the car right, but you do loose a little bite. I have a set of Hawk HPs on the rear of my car right now. My god those things dust like crazy, and it is extremely hard to get off the wheels.

Pad transfer problems? Like what? And I just use DS2500s in the rear right now, basically whatever I'm using on the street they haven't even worn out THAT much.

Bad wheel shake under braking. 3 events and I had the same problem at each one. The only thing that helped was changing to a different pad. I never had any transfer problems when I ran 2500's, but they aren't enough pad for the way I drive. I would probably kill a set in weekend now.

I love my PFC-01's I really like them a lot. I have had good wear with them and they perform great IMO.
