Im not familiar with the "standard" setup, but we will be using the Karussel and we will cut the hot-pit lane part of the track out, and make the 180 degree turn towards "The Hammer" and "Stone House Straight" a bit earlier. We felt the concrete barriers made the portion of the track near the paddock too narrow and no as friendly to cars as we wanted.

We may use the chicane near the bridge if we think cars will be catching too much air over the drop off... ;-)
What I meant by standard is will we be running in the standard direction because the track was designed to be run in both directions. Standard is counter-clockwise, backwards would be clockwise.

Thanks,
Mark

I just ran a FATT event at the Shenadoah circuit on the 28th the counterclockwise (std.) setup. I have run on the Summitt Point Circuit a dozen times as well as many other major tracks and have to say this one is a hell of alot of fun

I did get air coming jut past the bridge but, I was able to keep the car nice and straight. I new it was coming so I set up the car to attack the hill just right so that I would end up at my braking point for the chicane.

The track is definately a brake killer, although I am not running any type of cooling system for them, yet. It also is pretty technical and you really have to pick your entries and exits well ahead of time for alot of the corners. Also, what you may think is a correct entry on some of these turns will in fact turn out to be slower (as I found out at the FATT riding with some former champions as instructors).

Although was running in the advanced group during the FATT I still took a few instructor who were well versed in the course. The only casualty that day was a NSX who spun (as I was tailgating him) and graced the wall at the 180 degree turn near pit lane.

This will be a blast for those of you who never have run there. Just make sure you keep those brakes cool

UPDATE!!!!

I was just notified by REDLINE TIME ATTACK that Tarzan had an emergency family issues come up and won't be able to make it in time to the Time Attack. Nikolas from Redline will mention as soon as possible.

Replacing Tarzan will be Tom Milner Jr. who is a well known professional race car driver in the American Le Mans Series driving the Panoz race car. His father owns the PTG M3's that races on Speed Vision Cup.

I am sorry for the late breaking news and we hope to see Tarzan again in October at VIR for the GT LIVE event.
