Wow, good to know as I just ordered these.

What fluid u using? Stock rotors by chance? Brake cooling setup?

Keep in mind this all varies based on usage, the tracks, the configurations, and so on. But im using Motul brake fluid, stock rotors (had them resurfaced once), and no brake cooling setup.

^^ I'm with ya - limitless variables.

Plus ambient temps and humidity in different parts of the country I'm sure!

I love the PF stuff. I use the 97's all around with the PF 2 pc floating rotors and Super Blue. It is an amazing combination, and the only drawback is that on the street, the 97's are loud when cold, and the brake dust when it gets wet will stick to your wheels and will ruin them (really!)

Wow, then I'm hard on brakes. I've toasted XP12's in 2-3 days at Road America. I'm on a prototype Carbotech XP16 right now and they seem to be holding. I'm going to try some DTC-70's next.

PCF 01's installed...

Thanks for the help Drew & Dan!
Got everything delivered and installed this week. Took the car out for a quick bed-in test drive. On the first brake (60 down to 30) I could smell brake burn - oh yeah! These have some real stopping power! I was able to actually lock up the tires a bit, overriding the ABS as it seems! Note that I was hard braking down from around 60mph to bed them in. Still though; that's some braking power.

Scheduled for a track event @ Putnam Park on Monday!

PFC01 Report back.

Had my first event yesterday with PFC01 pads all around. Not sure if I like these pads. I don't think they were bedded in well enough at first, as the wheel would shake if I didn't brake in a very straight line. Also, it looked like I had previous pad residue on my rotors. Either way, things got better after my 2nd session.

They really bite, but seem VERY difficult to modulate. There's very little range from no brake to near lockup! Dunno if this is how good pads work that are brand new or not? It made it nearly impossible for me to heel/toe; had to relearn how with the different pedal range, but probably to be expected.

Man do these things squeal now! I knew they'd squeal on the street when I drove to/from events, but surprised how much they squeal on the track!

Can anyone speak to the modulation issue?
I obivously had to relearn all my braking zones for the track, as I was braking too early and thus scrubbing too much speed. I believe my overall times from my last trip to Putnam didn't improve as I was really having to learn the brakes - and my group was pretty crowded.

^ I had exactly the same symptoms as you had, although in my case I was running PFC97's. Fairly difficult to modulate - felt almost like an on/off switch and my steering wheel would also shake. The steering wheel issue came and went throughout the day, not sure what caused it. IMO the PFC97's and up may be too much pad for street tires. I'm going to give them one more shot next month, though.

Does anyone know how to temporarily disable ABS? (fuse, etc.)

I'm not running street tires on the track, maybe I should have mentioned that. I'm running 17x9 rims with 255/40 RA1's. But yeah, the modulation is an issue.

I'd be wary of disabling ABS. Last guy that I know pulled his fuse locked up a rear tire and put it into the wall. It wasn't an Evo, but it was still totalled. Sad when it's somebody you know.

I only want to disable it to find out how much pedal pressure is needed to lock the brakes up. I definitley won't track the car w/out ABS. Right now the PFC97's are triggering ABS way too easily though.
