Holy old thread! Thanks Dial911 I will keep that in mind if my latest combo (Ferodo DS3000 + AMS Brake Cooling Ducts) doesn't work.

Oh, BTW, just to avoid any potential confusion. SinCityVIIIMR was me, but I changed my username to EgoKillerEVO after I sold the VIII MR for the IX I am currently driving.

Yeah I guess as a newbie to this forum (not to track days....I've done 110) -- I'm trying to share what I use on my 480HP 930 for the past 5 years, and WHAT WORKS on an Evo

RS29 Pagids (won Daytona with these) and Motul fluid.
A no brainer. Craig at Rennstore can hook ya up -

I use stock calipers and rotors (as mandated by the scca) and use Hawk DTC 70s up front and SRF fluid. I run 40 minute National races on this with a 3500 pound evo w/driver and im around 340whp, and have never warped a rotor either. Ive crumbled some pads off the car and scored the rotors big time but still never warped. Actually, once I melted the caliper piston! I have a picture of that somewhere hmmm. I have seen/felt the vibration from pad transfer though, bedding in the brakes properly "usually" prevents this. I also have the AMS brake cooling kit. For you and others that track, id highly recommend checking your calipers often to make sure the inner seal isnt leaking. Its not a bad idea to bring a caliper rebuild kit to the track with you, its very easy to change and could save you from sitting in the pits watching everyone else have fun.

Good luck, Marty
