Your winter projects.

So, many of us are plotting what we want to get done prior to next years race, track, auto-x season so what are you up too? I ask this in part for entertainment but I'd say there is a fair chance I'll find a few things on your lists that I'll want to copy.

As for me... suspension, suspension, suspension. Not sure to this point what format it will take but I think I will settle on something inside the next few weeks. I also picked up some HKS 272 cams and head studs that I will be adding to the power mix. To round things out I will be addressing some braking issues and getting ready for the One Lap of America driving school at BeaveRun.

So what is everyone else up too?

Things I want to get done before starting to use it next year:

1) Fabricate a transmission cooler. (Already have the pump, need the core and lines yet)
2) Swap out all the old bushings for the Energy Suspension bushings I have.
3) Change out my driveline fluids. Probably going AMSOIL for most of it.
4) Strip the interior. Take the carpet out, take all the sound deadning material out, take out the airbags, rest of the speakers, etc.
5) Fabricate and install tow hooks.
6) Get an alignment.

That's all I got for right now.

New piston seals for the brakes! It bugs me you can't get consumables direct from Brembo and have to pay through the nose. You could just about get a set of pistons and seals from Wilwood for the price of Brembo seals from Mitsubishi. Anyone know of a better price than $96.04 from mitsubishiparts.net for the MR407375 seals?

I just rebuilt my brakes, fairly easy process if you have compressed air & dont have road tar gunked all over the caliper

Try contacting Martin at www.girodisc.com, I got a package deal on seals & dustboots, but cant remember what I payed.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Suspension also - going to a Swift spring/sway combo and shelfing the Megan coil-overs. This is going to be a transition summer with lots of driving. Im finishing up my degree here in April and its going to be time to hit the road to look for a job. So my goals are to do AXs and maybe a track day here and there.

Brakes - still have not found a great combo for me. I have HT10s for track days (which work fine). But on the street my Racing Brake ET500s keep transfering pad material to my rotors. RB has not gotten back to me on these yet. (OE rotors w or w/o my ducts open). I might go back to Hawks or GranSports.

Power - Going to get a WB and do a 114 oct tune with Mellon in the spring for extra power in drag racing and tracking.

Tires - my RT615s were pretty played out over last summer. So I might reorder a set or get a set of NT01s. Kumho MXs are also an option since I might be on the road a lot.

Not sure who else has used the Racing Brake ET500s but as a person who has I will be polite and say that I will not be ordering any more.

Parts i have:

- Install PF 2 piece front rotors (stockers are all grooved to sh*t)
- Swap PF Z metallic pads for the street, Ray ST-43's for the track
- Flush brakes with SRF
- Flush all driveline fluids with OEM specs, except for the tranny which will get the thicker MR fluid

Parts I need this season:

- Install Oil Temp/Pressure gauges
- Figure out some sort of datalogging setup to gather everything (wideband, oils, G2X like track stats, etc)
- Look at getting the AMS fuel surge setup

Some minor stuff, since my car is about as developed as it's going to get as a daily driver:

1) 20G-LT
2) 880CC injectors + re-tune on E-85 for daily driving and racing
3) FMIC (already acquired an ETS core) + piping to better handle the big boost of the 20G on course without heatsoaking so quickly
4) Some actual weight reduction to include a mini-battery to go with the new IC piping
5) Repair or replace whiny t-case that has been abused for 3 years
6) Front tow hook if I want to do a Redline event

This is just to optimize a little more for SM class in SCCA SOLO II and for NASA TTS. At full bore, I'll have too much power for TTS, but I'll be able to turn the boost down a little and run a more conservative tune to stay within the 8.7:1 limit.

It really depends on what "full weight" is - it varies so much between cars and drivers (I weigh 235 with full gear). But yeah, last year, my ratio was 3350lbs/385whp (SAE corrected as required), but I think the car will be closer to 3300 this year, which is important, because the different weight ranges incur different penalties/bonuses. I think 3300 is neutral, but if I went to 3250 or lower, then I would get a penalty to my ratio. Even at 3300, that would remove my bonus for 3350, although very small.

If it helps any I could do free ground shipping on these so that would save you a few bucks. Just PM me if you decide on going with the OE Brembo parts.

- Hopefully going to new suspension setup (Bilstein HD, Swift or Espelier springs, Whiteline camber plates, etc.)
- TRE rear diff upgrade
- Alignment
- new exhaust setup to accomodate full rear undertray (no exhaust cutout) and to eliminate nasty rasp
