Exactly...I can honestly tell you when I just went to our season opener this year ~350whp was much to hard too control on 235 RE01R's. In some spots a stock evo was faster because he could put the power down without being sideways.

I have a limited budget. I am not a big fan of changing compenents mid year.

Historically I spent my money like this (mostly stock class racing):

Tires
Struts
Alignment
Basic power adders

I am only a local and really cant justify a 3K suspension setup.

My car has tein h-techs which are just soft lowering springs.

What does a IX need more than anything else (like a top 3 here)

I would say:

Great Tires
Good Struts
and a spring combo

Can you guys put a combo together with that ? Also I will be driving this car. So i need to keep my teeth if I hit a road joining....

The loose nut behind the wheel is moderatley tight in RWD cars with 9 years of experience. BUT in AWD I could always use some pointers....

My style is smooth and I tend to box all curves.

Thanks

Since you are budgeting, try the Dunlop Direzza D1's in a 245 width. Then call GT Worx and get their RCE springs/Bilstein combo and a rear sway bar. You'll have fun locally and not make your kidneys bleed on the way home.

Smooth is good, don't box the curves.

I will argue that 350whp is not too much, if it's in the right place. It is torque that makes a car hard to drive. 350whp at 4K rpms is a lot different than 350whp at 8K rpms. . .

Both are correct in autocross! I learned that at the end of last season after I finally got my car tuned on E-85!!

that's a nice graph. were there other changes besides E85 and tuning between those two?

Well yes and no. If I had more tire it would be perfect or less body roll. I had a bit of body roll that unsettled the car through sweepers. How my car is tuned though with aggressive mivec it make full spool right around 3200rpm and the torque really like to hurt my 235's So coming out of the apex hitting full spool...well lets just say I really had it sideways a few times I think with coilovers and stickier 245's or 255's (only if I dont do SCCA events) would be perfect with my power. I wish 255's were allowed.

You should know, except your fossil smoked mine off the line at the ProSolo finale! I wish they would drop the 8s down to STX with the E36 M3s.

I don't understand, you can run any size tire you want since your car is not in STU. Since you have a relationship with Bridgestone, I would try the 265 - 18 RE01rs.

Sure I do nobody knows my mods there In all seriousness though I have the stock boost parts to swap on to run STU. I used to work for bridgestone so RE01R were cost for me. Now I dont so I will probably try the Z1's since they cost a good chunk less. I would like to attend some STU races this year. I dont think I am ready to spend the $$$ for BSP and I doubt I am a good enough driver. It nice that the local BSCC just runs prepared sedan so alot of mods are allowed. Too bad I get beat by some trailered SHO tauras...damn pos.

Is the Rexpeed type-c spoiler legal in STU?

Take a look...

For an Evo RS model, yes it is but for an MR or GSR, no it's not.

If you modify the spoiler and cut a rectangular or oval opening in the lower center allowing air to pass over the trunk but under the spoiler, I would consider it STU legal since it now functions similar to a wing. On a smaller scale of course.

We need some more entries in STU for the Toledo ProSolo. Less than 50 open spots and we don't have a class yet.
