Driving Techniques?
Well since this is a Racing/Driving forum, I was wondering if anyone would like to delve into some basic techniques like how to burn out, how to heel toe properly and so forth. I havent seen this posted alot anywhere else and im sure it would help out newbies who are just getting into the whole "scene"
P.S sorry for lurking

HOW TO PEEL OUT
(although I don't really recommend it... not to good for your car, and highly illegal)
1.) stop at a red light next to a civic
2.) pump up da tunes
3.) turn in their direction, smile and nod
4.) REV BABY REV!
5.) make sure you arn't getting too into it, forgetting to watch the light
6.) scan for cops
7.) have your car in neutral
8.) step your foot on the gas
9.) when the light turns green, start smilin'
10.) keep your foot on the gas, and slam your car into gear
11.) beat da damned civic!
12.) be proud about how much gas you just wasted
HOW TO FISH-TAIL
(also not recommended, and highly illegal)
1.) you have to be wanting to turn
2.) duh
3.) start the turn with normal speed (maybe a little faster than usual)
4.) half way into the turn, jerk your car to really turn
5.) at the same time, STEP ON IT
6.) this should make your back end swerve out.. AKA fish-tail
7.) smell the burnt rubber
8.) say bye bye to that full tank of gas

You can also sit (on flat ground so you don't roll) with your foot on the brake and clutch depressed but with shift knob in 1st, take your foot off the brake, slam the gas, foot off the clutch, and goodbye transmission. Garaunteed to make your tires spin though.
Same principle...force the car into gear when it's high in RPMs and you're putting down more torque than your wheels can handle.

How to 180 a FWD lancer on dry pavement
have a nice wide open space unobstructed by trees, light poles, cops, kids and the like. in a straight line take the car up to around 27-30mph, to be really cool make sure your in third. casually begin a turn like you were in a grocery store parking lot, then downshift and slam it the opposite direction while gunning the throttle. not good for cross arms or tires but once is fun and minimal harm. get new mines cross arms and eibach or intrax suspension and you're golden

speed starts, 180 at 20 to forward, and drifting
lets go over this slowly....
speed starts for stick only! first put the car in first, keep foot on clutch, rev engine to 3000RPM's, drpress clutch and press gas fully...if you dont know how to do this your an idiot and you deserve to be shot.
reverse at 20mph 180 to forward......only for experts or maniacs! Get into a huge parking lot or even better an open plain of some sort....put car into reverse, put car into reverse and basically floor it, when at a good speed, 20-25mph put the car in nuetral and pull the ebrake while pulling the wheel 180 degrees, when about halfway, put down the ebrake and put the car into second gear driving out of the 180. now this might not be the correct way to do it but i have done this a few times in a stick civic and it worked like a dream, not sure about the second gear thou, it might be different depending on how fast your spinning coming out of the 180.
Drifting....not my expertise but i have tried it on dirt with an old sti in england and it worked quite nicely....go into a sharp turn at a speed of your choice, preferably 20-30 mph. turn sharply while letting of the gas to about halfway of what you were just pressing the gas at. when you car starts sliding (not sure about tarmac) straighten out the wheel and floor it....you may have problems depending on road type and drive train. this is also my way of drifting, maybe be different from others techniques but it worked for me.
do not hold me respsonsible for car crashes or burnt clutches, or even transmission failure. If im wrong about any of these techniques, please tell me so that someone doesnt screw their car up trying these.

How do you do a burnout in a front wheel drive automatic car?
Someone told me to put it in neutral, floor it and then slam it into the lowest gear i have. Will that work?

Re: speed starts, 180 at 20 to forward
I accidently pulled off the reverse-to-180 trick one time....wasn't in a parking lot though...more like my best friend's driveway. Trying to be a badass I was flying in reverse down his long driveway, lost control, and 180'd, ending up facing perfectly down his driveway. I acted later like I meant to do that....although I had to steam clean the driver's seat after that fiasco. I guess that puts me in the "maniac" category....eithe rthat or the "ate paint chips as a kid" category.
