Track day with AMS mini radiator?

I have my first open track/HPDE day coming up and was just wondering if anyone has ever ran one with a small radiator?? I have a water temp gauge so I'll keep a close eye on the temps. Just wondering HOW easy I'm going to have to take it??

Any ideas? Thanks!

A large sized (not standard) size PWR or Koyo.

What kind of track day and how long are your sessions going to be?

IMO not worth the risk, even if you turn the boost way down.

So this is going to be the first time this thing has seen an open track day?

Have fun! Auto-X is going to be.... Buh-Bye. I haven't been back to a parking lot full of cones since my first track day.

Yep, first time. I was going to do a NASA HPDE next weekend at Grattan, but found out my seats and seat belts are not up to snuff for NASA rules. I will fix that for next year so I can focus on running more NASA events.

The event on Monday is an "independent" HPDE so the rules are not as restrictive. I'm going to take it easy and just see what it's all about. Just running stock wheels/tires. Don't want to hurt my car or myself before the peak AX season. . .

I am running just water and Redline Water Wetter in the AMS mini rad. At what water temps should I just cruize and let it cool down? It normally runs in the mid-low 190's . . .

I've run Grattan a few times.... love that track.... It was built on an old drag strip so you'll see almost 130mph in the straight. That should cool things down for you.

I'm curious to hear how you feel that aero package works at higher speeds. I've got the same parts on order for my hillclimb evo, and I'll be seeing speeds over 100.

This time out I'm just going for fun.

Next HPDE in October at Putnam Park I'm going to be running data acquisition and will test it with aero and without aero to see how much of a difference it makes in sustained G's and peak G's.

I can tell you at Winged Warrior I ran the drags with the splitter ON and the wing OFF. On the top end the car was a HANDFULL! I could definitely tell there was a dramatic difference between the front and rear of the car.

I wouldn't risk it.... you might have to do one hot lap, one cool down lap, etc. That would just be frustrating to me, not to mention the fact that you'll be holding up traffic everytime you have to slow down.

Consider this, the more power you make, the bigger the radiator you need.
