The Rally Event for X Games 14 was insane this weekend. The 70 ft jump made all the difference. The NOS Evo flipped over when his rear end clipped the bank when landing. Cars were losing pieces of the front bumper, cracking radiators, and everything jsut becomes loose after trying to land that jump. In the end it came down to about the same identical 2 from 2007, Pastrana and Foust. Pastrana took gold because Foust scraped the wall and lost a few seconds when exitting the stadium.

Besides X Games that was exciting this weekend. WRC was held at Finland also. Its a close battle between drivers and car manufacturers.

Loeb takes 1st place for Citroen
Hirvonen takes 2nd place for Ford
Atkinson takes 3rd for Subaru

Loeb vs Schumacher at Race of Champions at the end of this year. this race is gonna be awesome. 2 fast drivers who went from F1 to rally and are going head to head.

Here are some more images from this weekend's event. Loeb and Sordo takes 1-2 here with Francois Duval coming in third for Ford. Citroen is just killing it on tarmac. Imagine if there were more tarmac events on the calendar.

Yikes...I've often wondered why the FIA cages don't allow for extra sill reinforcement? I would think that extra bar along the floor might've helped with a 'stump' impact...i.e. low enough not to get caught up in the door "X."

In local rally news, Rally Colorado in Steamboat Springs, Colorado is in just over 2 weeks!
