BUT up or downshifting into first gear is HORRIBLE. Its a 50/50 crap throw that it will not grind. It has gotten so bad that I have been bypassing 1st gear all together and just use 2nd gear to take off. I will fiddle with it a bit more tomorrow and if I can not fix it I am ripping this thing out
Have the shifter in my car and this is spot on to the same problem I am having.... Every gear is perfect accept for 1st...... +1 on the location... I am actually thinking about extending the shifter up and over closer to the wheel..... I daily the car 76 miles monday-friday and occasionally do some hard backroads driving and haven't had any problem other than the first gear crap shoot.......

you know guys this has to be a simple case of adjustment of the cable length. I suggest this because I had no issues with first at all. I had a slight issue under performance shifting in fifth.

Now as to which way to adjust, don't know. You might have to reinstall the oem, remark the cables in their native position then reinstall the ikeya.

Bruce is right.... I just have no other excuse than being too lazy to find the time to pull the center console and adjust...... lack of motivation FTL!!
