it converts a H pattern to a straight up & down scenario.... its not really a sequntial shifter cause you still gotta use the clutch...

I like how it looks like the shifter is positioned higher than oem... but we'll see.. this could be a total waste of time.

nils, for once I'm ahead of you on something. might not be a good thing, we will see.

got the shifter hooked up and have put two or three hundred miles on it. still have a few things to do to complete the install 100%.

works well enough as it is, though I am still having to think the shifts to do them.

besides not being able to double clutch there doesn't seem to be a significant issue. double clutching was a habit I needed to loose anyway.

the knob is a couple of inches higher (guessing). the location front to back and sideways is the same.

height does not bother me

YOU will not have forty days of rain like I will though.

I have tried them on 3 cars now, 2 evos and one 240 all were track cars and they all sucked with the shifter.

I did not put them in any of them but the owners all ended up getting rid of them and going back to the stock shifter.

I did not like them, they didn't work well at all, but maybe you will have better luck Nils.

We have installed them and they are garbage. You will eventually become so frustrated with it that you'll take it out. If you had a dog engagement box it might be better but with a syncro box the engagement is nearly impossible to adjust and it will occasionally land in between gears.

Wait until you get to watch the instruction DVD. .....in Japanese.

Here's one of the ones we did in an STI.

The other was in a 240 S13/SR20. I could shift faster with an H pattern, nevermind the potential for destroying your gearbox in one drive.

I can't urge you enough to abandon this project.
