Yeah, read it this morning. No real impact on the race program though.

WELL, it seems as if our cries have finally been heard. It only took outcries from SEVERAL racers, team owners, MILLIONS of fans, and Schumi. The FIA pulled a U-turn on the First place rule. "If the teams do not now agree with the new system, it's implementation will be differed till 2010." Looks like we're back to using the points system for 2009 guys. Awesome!!!

I'm pretty sure every single team principal was opposed to it.

Who out of the 3 teams with questionable rear diffusers do you think will have official challenges brought against them in Melbourne?

Well, it's expected that Brawn GP will but I think there is more to it than meets the eye. That rear diffuser rule I quoted above is real iffy and I believe that if Brawn and the other teams can graphically and mathematically prove via blueprint that their designs don't violate a general interpretation of the aero rules, and they probably will prove it, then the diffusers will stay.

On a side note, I believe that the heavy hitters are all sandbagging/fuelbagging. I think that they were probably all heavy on fuel. We'll see in a few days. I'll be watching practice like a hawk.

Practice is going to be SO important now, they're going to be piling on the mileage every week. Do any of you guys know if the friday engine is still legal to change? I would assume it is esp since the engines have to last 4 races now.

Yeah your right. I was pondering on whether qualifying would be rush hour as well. With the new rules this year I can wonder if more people will stay out after they put down a nice hot one in the first 2 rounds of qualifying?

Just in case you guys haven't seen the news, the diffusers will stay on the cars. Brawn, Toyota, and Williams survived the initial protest. So chances are, results from the first two races of the season won't be official till the FIA bigshots see this out in court in the coming weeks.

Let the games begin. My fantasy pics have all been made and I'll be watching practice tomorrow morning at 1am est. I figure I'll call it a night at 9pm tonight and I'm going in to work an hour or so later tomorrow to counter the lost sleep. The wait is finally over.

Interesting turning of events. I may have to adjust my fantasy pics.

And sure enough those cars are at the top of the time sheets...
