I don't really see this as a split series. Whatever teams remain under the F1 banner will not be high end teams; most of them are new teams which rely on the FOTA teams for engines anyway.
The sooner Bernie and Max are out of the picture, the better.

The teams hold the prestige, the pedigree and the real history. This isn't CART or INDY, it is a completely different proposition. We are talking about the likes of Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, Renault, Redbull, Toyota, Brawn. Every fan will follow the new series wherever it might be held, if it includes their teams and still places the fastest cars and drivers in the world on demanding tracks against one another.
I could also see them having two or three North America GPs. Since they know very well that we are their biggest market and they have always wanted to be more connected to the fans here. Imagine a Limerock GP, Leguna Seca GP or a Vegas GP through the famous strip even.
Many tracks that F1 abandoned can make a welcome return as well.
If F1 is to continue, FOTA should take over the regulations and management. Max steps down and Bernie can retire off somewhere and get his cut at the end of the year. But a new series is just as welcome, yes it would take a year or two to get organized and get TV rights and such worked out but all the infrastructure is pretty much in place to have it be a smooth transition in a short period of time.
We will soon see.

Interesting viewpoint. I'm anxious to see how this whole ordeal gets sorted out.

The remaining teams are going to be more like gp2 then f1, the only motor any of them will be able to use is the Cosworth. Originally Posted by WestSideBilly

I love the fact that some of the tracks are now backing the FOTA teams. I would expect Silverstone to be one of the new series highlight races.

That's just one of the frustrations I have with Bernie.
He only cares about who pays him whatever he asks, he doesn't care about the tracks that have backed F1 for decades.

I read that as well. Monaco said without Ferrari they won't have a race.Originally Posted by Billy@EnglishRacing

I think in the end, something will give. Either Max will end up leaving although he just said again today he won't or they will come to some sort of compromise for the regs.
An all cosworth series would suck... you would have a euro version of INDY w/o the ovals.

It would be gp2.... with cosworth engines instead of renough (sp)?

The FIA is gonna be screwed in the end. The two parties will come to an agreement, I'm feeling more and more confident of that. Not sure why, just am...
GoKimiGo, did you like Webers comments in the post quali conference... what a *ick!
IDK why Ferrari is so obsessed with putting so much full in the cars, pisses me off.
Glad to see Button not on the front row, should make for an interesting race.

I think that pretty much says it all. Mosley still looks at the teams and thinks they're bonkers, and should just continue taking it up the ***.

Yeah, I saw the comments, I think it was out of frustration with himself for not being as good as Vettel. Originally Posted by grillpt

The Vodka thing made me laugh though, LOL.
Vettel had the highest weight out of the entire top 10 drivers and was still nearly .4 faster than Barrichello! Kid is a phenom. Hats off to him and hope that he can keep it together this time at the front.
Kimi isn't running overly heavy though, the pace just isn't there for Ferrari unfortunately.
Here is the Qualifying weights, Kimi was one of the lightest in Q3. But yeah usually they over fill him and Massa a bit much.

And look at Bernie changing his tune...

The RB5 is looking nasty quick with all its new updates. I had no idea Vettel was that heavy, usually he's the lightest guy on the grid.

You really cant ask for anything better then being first on the grid with the most fuel in the top 10!
Red Bull ran a great race, i love seeing them on top!
I was also really pleased to see Ferrari keep scoring points!

It would have been really good if Weber had gotten a completely clean lap in Quali and the two of them could have faught it out for the win.
Kimi's race pissed me off, getting stuck behind Trulli is always a death sentence. Fifth after the first lap and finishing 8th is not acceptable, esp when Felipe starts 11th and winds up fourth. wtf is that...
now the three break...

The battle for 4th, 5th and 6th during the end of the race was cool, there was so much battling going on, in the lower positions that actually made the race fun to watch. Anyone notice the Redbulls were hardly televised compared to the other cars, although they were leading the race (or at least I felt that way).
