Again, I feel like reiterating that the car design seems to play a bigger part in the results of F1. I really do believe at the pro skill levels of the drivers, the difference between them isn't as much as it's hyped up to be. So would that mean that Hamilton won last years championship because of the car he was driving? I think that and luck played a great deal into his championship win. If anyone of the talented F1 drivers were put in that cockpit they would've probably taken the championship.

Additionally if most of the manufacturers leave F1 and started their own series, would you continue to watch F1 or the other series? I think we should have a new poll that askes this question. I know I would lose interest in F1 if the manufacturers leave ...

I think the disparity on qualifying/results between drivers should indicate that there is more difference in drivers than you think.

Then how do you explain Brawn drivers qualifying 2nd and 3rd (when they constantly used to be at the back row last year)? Or RedBull drivers qualifying 1st and 4th? Or Heike qualifying higher than Hamilton but them being relatively similar in their location in the pack? Obviously there is a slight difference in skill levels but I don't think it's a great as it's made out to be ...

It's both the car and the driver IMO. Some cars fit the driving style of one driver over another, look at last year, Massa waxed Kimi most of the year. The year before it was Kimi who had the upperhand over Felipe... It's both...
The car does make a big difference from year to year though, you can't compare the Honda from lastyear to the Brawn of today. Way more R&D has gone into the Brawn, they stopped developing lastyears car very early in the season.
Think about it... Look at MM, Heikki out qualified Hami the last two races... Is he your #1 now at MM? No way...

Here's to hoping the show at Silverstone is a whole lot better! *crosses fingers*

I have to say I fell asleep for about a half hour in the middle there. Vettel's interview was great: "I am not happy." At least he made his feelings clear.

I am pretty damn happy about the new teams for next year!

After watching the 24 hours this weekend i am super excited to hopefully get to see Sena in an F1 car next season.

So what do you guys think... do you think FOTA and the FIA will kiss and make-up or do you think the manufacturer's will break away?

I think in the end they'll make up. Time is running out though...

I really like the way Mark Webber puts all this into perspective.

Don't really care for him on the track, but Webber is a pretty bright guy. Can't disagree with anything he said.

I personally think they will make up, I don't think deep down that Bernie wants to lose those teams. However, he has surprised me in the past, so at this point it can go either way.

I think that Bernie is convinced that as long as he has 10+ teams, he'll be rolling in the dough. Which is all that matters.

I hope they sort this out. F1 is not F1 without the likes of Ferrari, Renault, BMW, and McLaren.

I was reading an interesting thing on PF1 last night, and it made sense.
Whether you like McLaren or not, there's no arguing with the fact that Ron Dennis carried a lot of power in the political circle of F1. With him out of the way, the teams aren't as strong as they were last year.

Yeah but he is losing some seriously big names... teams like BMW and McLaren bring in a lot of revenue because of the brand loyalty of their fans.
