Ideally we'd get a couple well funded, well run teams... rather than more back markers.

The sad reality is that until Bernie changes how teams are compensated, that's unlikely. Having 4 more cars competing for a limited number of points paying positions thins the prize pool for all the non-elite teams.

I would like to see Bernie gone... Why is it that commissioners of sports are always holding the sport up...

I think Bernie is the worst commissioner in sports, narrowly edging out David Stern.

It's quite ridiculous that the teams (which have probably 90% of the costs) get less than 50% of the money.

Funny you mention that. I was going to mention David "too" Stern.

One of the best things the rule changes have done this year is shake up the leaderboard.
With Ferrari, McLaren and BMW struggling to gain any ground, it gives the mid-field teams an opportunity to prove their program's worth, and will hopefully give teams like Pro-drive an Lola the motivation to start/return to F1.

I totally agree. Barcelona should be interesting, with every team touting new upgrades I can't wait to see who will come out on top. Personally my vote is on RBR. They've looked really good all year. If they can pull of a good new rear diffuser, they'll be tough to beat, I think.

I don't care what anyone says, Lewis has displayed the heart and skill of a champion this season. He's driven a clearly inferior chassis to respectable finishes this year so far. Spun his car 3 times in Malaysia and still finished 7th. When McLaren finally gets it right, which is inevitable, it'll be Button, Vettel, and Hamilton battling it out till the end. Hami, the heart of a LION and the drive of a CHAMPION. This season is far from over.

I still don't understand why people count Ferrari out? All it takes is a couple of DNFs from the current leaders and strong drives from team SF to get back on top. Last season was the perfect example. Button WILL be caught. This outcome early in the beginning of the season is to be expected. We'll see how the stats look come mid-season.

I think that vettel is owning hami and he is doing it cleanly. Watching hami these past few years I think he has some senna in him. The part of senna that would crash you out to keep from losing. I think that hami has gotten better this year in his ability to come from the back and passing is much improved. I still think that kimi is a better driver and has had the worse luck of any driver in the series over his career.

Agree about LH. I thought he was showing a bit of Kimi last year (indifference, assuming his prodigious talent will deliver endless wins), but he has been really driven this year. Vettel may still yet prove to be better though.

I think Button may be caught (possibly by Vettel), but I don't think Brawn will be for manufacturer, and that's what Ferrari cares about. 4 races, 0 DNFs. The cars are fast and reliable. I don't see Massa or Kimi winning because they're so far behind already, and if Ferrari suddenly "gets it" they will steal points from each other.

I believe the current Concorde limits the field to 24.
