Removing drivers side 3 point belt receiver
Removing drivers side 3 point belt receiver
I need to figure out how to get the driver’s side factory belt receiving end off the OEM Recaro. The passenger side is easy, but the driver’s side has a (seat belt) wire that runs down through and under the seat and ends with a white plastic clip (too big to pull through). I still haven't figured out how to get this wire to stay with the receiving end without just cutting it. If anyone knows how to do this, let me know? Thanks.
I think you're referring to the white connector clip under the seat? If so, I'm not sure what it's for but it unplugs. I unplugged mine when I first removed my seats to drill the holes for my 6pts. I never did hook it back up.
Additionally I removed the entire stock seatbelt assembly last week. Besides the bolt up top and at the bottom, there's another clip that smaller and yellow that I had to unplug.

I am, but with my setup, the OEM 3 point belt receiver end has to be removed from the Recaro's and re mounted on the Sparco seat base (to continue to use the 3 point belts on the street as my race belts aren't street legal). Unclipping the white connector is not the problem, it's once you get the two cable ties cut and the wire assembly is loose it needs to be pulled up through the side of the seat as the wires are permanently attached to receiver end (most likely soldered). This is the trouble. The white clip (when connected) runs up to the "brain" and trips the seat belt warning light when the driver forgets to use his OEM belts. Fortunately removing the white clip seems to trick the brain into thinking the belt is connected (no dash warning).
You're correct about disconnecting the plug. When you insert the seat belt into the receiver it opens the circuit which is normally closed. Unplugging the connector makes the circuit open.
So if you don't mind losing the warning, you don't need to worry about that wiring going to the receiver. I put in Sparcos and just never hooked it back up, I know when I'm buckled up.
