GT35R vs HTA35R

I'm hoping I can get a little input on which turbo would work better for my application. We are doing a serious build on an Evo 8 to make a legit time attack car. We have put a 2.3L stroker engine into the car along with all the other bells and whistles (30k worth). In the end we are looking for around 650 whp and want to compete with the best of the best at time attack out there. Right now we are trying to decide between running a normal Garret GT35R turbo or the Buschur HTA35R turbo. We like the idea of a quicker spooling turbo, but want as much power as possible. With adequate driver skill and experience do you think we would be okay running the normal 35R? We would prefer the normal 35R because of the additional power assuming a skilled driver can make it work. What are your thoughts?

Haha, your in that grey area the rest of the TA teams are It's worked time and time before so I see no reason why it wouldn't, especially on a 2.3. Several people have twin-scrolled or anti-lagged and so forth to keep the boost up between shifts, so if your budget allowes (sounds like it does) you can get creative.

Is this going into that yellow evo? Seems like I remember a volo sticker on it.

The HTA makes more power than the regular 35R. And it spools faster. There's no reason to not run an HTA.

That said, t4 twinscroll is where it's at. That will spool faster than an open scroll T3. Check out this thread about the switch from T3 single scroll HTA 35R to T4 twin scroll HTA 35R. ETS can do you right.

The HTA makes more power than the regular 35R even at the top end? My understanding was that you lose some of the top end to get the quicker spool.
