SCCA T2 Evo - Yay or Nay?
Sorry for all the OP stuff, I just hate to see somebody make a big change that they regret! I miss SM a lot, but agree with lots of your sentiment about it being a bit far off of a true "spec" class.
We can all dream!!!!

Yeah, spec is never 100% spec. Though, I would argue that SRF is much closer and I think that is one reason that SRF retook the lead from SM last year as the most popular SCCA class. The motor issue and the numerous iterations can make the SM class frustrating and expensive.
As far as the class numbers, 20 is typically a low number turnout for any event. Numbers in the 40-80 range are common for bigger events.

I will start a thread when the time comes to make finite plans. All I can say now is check out the Bathurst racing video's from this years 12 hour race and then check out the Australian V8 Supercar video's from Bathurst. I just heard that Boris Said is going to race in a V8 Supercar at the Bathurst 1000km race. That track is wild, up and over Mt Panorama. Incredible old world race track with plenty of history, speed and danger.
Yeah...Time to sell this one and start planning for next season... Work (and my 1 y/o daughter) has taken sooo much time away from my racing schedule this year. I've had just enough time to get the car completely sorted and ready to run for the national championship. If it doesn't sell and I can squeak out the time, I'll run it. If one of you want an awesome car that can compete and win against some of the best in the country you should take a serious look.
My recommendation for building any kind of race car... buy someone elses that has spent the time and crazy $$$$ to figure it all out rather than spending your own time and money. Marty and I have a small fourtune in our cars and with any luck he'll be standing on the top of the podium at the National Championships next month.
