What kind of power are you looking to push? The BBK XL may be worth a look since you probably won't need a turbo for a few months. I'll take you for a ride in my car with the regular BBK sometime if you want to see what its like.

Haha, They don't really bother me. Fronts are fine but I have nothing on the back. I'm just too lazy to re-wrap them, I hate upholstering.

I was kidding homie! it all depemds right now. I thinlk you need them for the modified class in rta. Not 100 percent, but they were asking were my arm rest was at the one event I did last year!

And I have heard about the bbk xl, well just that one was in the works. it will be interesting to see what everyone else runs turbo wise. I'm sure 500 awhp will still be the mark in the class. And I will take you up on that ride!!

If you're gunning for a certain whp (i.e., power/weight ratio), then you'll want to see about getting the smallest turbo that will get you to that power level. You want to maximize the 'torque' hump, as the rules only talk about HP, not TQ. So you could totally build a car that makes more torque than HP. Ironically with the power/weight ratio being based on HP, it would be perfect for a diesel engine...

Hey in your evo what were your times in relation to ken smiths TT-S vette? He is one hell of a driver!
I haven't ran a single event with NASA this year. (Well did one in April, when I was instructing) so I really don't know, tranny went on me in 2nd session. Last year I concentrated on building a car for the max of Time Attack's street class rules, so in NASA I was in a big disadvantage. This winter I'm thinking of going back to NASA big time and running some time attacks. So we'll see how it shapes up over this winter.

I'm taking 30r off and going back to green as a starter, TT-S is going to be my main build with RTA in mind.

Well with the wing supplies on the way (aluminum) for the supports. Starting to consider material for spliter, diffuser, and perhaps connecting the two with a removeable undertray.

First choice as of now is alumilite sheeting. Now its down to price and how much will be needed!

Ryan,

Looks like you have a good start already on your plans for next season. As if that car wasn't already fast enough!! Great thread started...keep up with the updates.

I have joined the crowd as another Midwest TT Evo driver for next season. Looking forward to see what I can do in TTS or TTU. As the car sits right now it would be TTS.

Given that you are planning for TTU next season I better keep it as a TTS car next year.

Interested to see how much weight you end up pulling out of it. My car was 3050 at PPIHC last year, and I didn't get to do much weight loss stuff for 2009.

Also looking forward to what you come up with for a rear diffuser.

I noticed that too...WRC turbo on antilag anyone? There's a chance I'll be rallying something different next year, so the Evo may morph into something I can play with at local time trials events.

Yeah the diffuser is actually going to be a close copy of one that my friend trent already has. He bought an amazing diffuser off a true amls viper. His is dry carbon but mine will be alumilite.

And once spring finds its way back to the midwest I plan on doing a detailed test using every piece of aero seperatelyn, in combos and, then finally all together!

You can do better than a diffuser that was created to meet ALMS rules...

I haven't really looked into much else but you are probably right. The one good thing is my ehaust dumps after the downpipe so I will have plenty of room with out sacrafice of an exhaust opening.

Can you post some pics of yours on here? I am curious to see it. I will find a pic of trent's just to see what differances there are.

Thanks for all the feedback tho!

I'll be building my rear diffuser this weekend. I'm not really trying to maximize the potential, at least for now. I'm just trying to get something better than stock. I think to get the real magic you need to run the car really low to the ground.

I think these guys adapted a formula car diffuser.

Yea good call I can't see the diffuser being as functual with a higher ride height. Winter can suck but its a good 4 to 5 months to figure things like this out! Haha
