HamFLeX TT-U/ Modified RTA build!
[quote=DaveK;8307482]Just curious, how floppy did the doors get when you did this? I'm kicking around the idea of doing the same thing to the rear doors on my car, but I need them to stay stiff enough so that the door doesn't distort and leak air/dirt in at the dust seals.
They will remain stiff enough, I have done this on the EvoD time attack car, and Mark Berry's autocross beast has the same thing done. Both are very stable..

Hey everyone sorry for the lack of udates! I have not had a computer in months and have been traveling for work.
I started a new websit for updates and what not it is hamflexracing.com
its more of a blog but makes it super easy for me to update even when im at the track! I have also finally bought a new computer after mine broke months ago! lol
As far as 2011 goes..... I will be leaving time trials behind and pursuing my dream of wheel to wheel racing. I will be racing with NASA in th super touring 1 class. From there I will also make plans to race with SCCA in the sto class. Although they have to accept my bid from what ive been told and basically ok my car for fair competition.
As far as the doors go.... yea they are a little flimsy but nothing to bad. They dont let any thing inside and there is no crazy vibrations or anything while at high speeds.

Yea april is the first compe school so i can get my provisional license. I will be doing it at mid-ohio with great lakes region, or autobahn south with my home region being the midwest. although I want to get as much time at mid-ohio to prepare for nasa nationals return to mid-ohio!!

I went through the Mid-O Comp school with NASA this past summer and it was very well run. The neat thing is that you can race on the same weekend once you are done on Friday
What I learned....get a good nights' sleep, make sure you have 70% pads and 70% tires as you will need it (I ended up cording the two front tires by the end of the day
)...the school is straight out the entire day with just a break for lunch. I had Tommy Byrne in the class that I was in and he was a great help in really understanding some of the nuances of Mid-O, but regardless of who is on track for the day, they all know the track like the back of their hand so take the opportunity to pick the brains while you are there...it will definatley help
