100 Acre Wood

Rally in the 100 Acre Wood | www.100aw.org

The 100 Acre Wood Rally is the second race of the Rally-America Championship Series and is known as one of the most scenic. Named after the storybook home of Winnie the Pooh, the 100 Acre Wood Rally is a picturesque race with enough twists and turns to test every driver's ability. Set in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains of Missouri this race is always a favorite due to its pristine surroundings and fast, tight roads. Although you won't see Winnie the Pooh or any of his friends, you will see some of the best rally driving on some of the best rally roads in North America.

LOCATION | Salem, MO

Heralded as the "Gateway to the Ozark Riverways", Salem, Missouri is a beautiful place to visit. With the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, the Mark Twain National Forest, and the Indian Trail Conservation Area all neighboring Salem, there is more than enough to see and do. And don't forget to bring your fishing pole as the area is famous for its Rainbow Trout Fishing!

CONDITIONS |

The roads on the 100 Acre Wood Rally are known as some of the best roads in the nation for rallying. Fast, tight, twisty, and dry, this course is set up to test even the best driver's skills. However, the ever changing Missouri weather in February can lead to rain, sleet, hail or even snow which can bring a dangerous and exciting element to the race. No matter what the weather though, the scenic splendor in Salem makes this rally one of the best for spectators, so make sure to bring your camera.

Should be quite a race for the top of the podium as defending series champion Travis Pastrana tries to hold of mitsubishi wheel men; Arkadiusz Gruszka, Andrew Comrie-Picard, Antoine L'Estage and former teammate Ken Block.

This was a great event. I got to talk to L'estage at the Viburnum service area for a bit. He was getting faster and trying to close in on block but was consistently ~20 secs behind. Block is getting faster too! Also, Bacon is doing a great job and as a privateer trying to get noticed. With 2 3rd places this year already, I am sure he will!

as much credit as I'd like to give Block, it seems Travis wasn't going to be caught until he broke his car, just like last year when he was leading until he totaled his car during a night stage at the 100 acre, glad to see two EVO's on the podium though!
