Lap timer/video record apps for Android phones?
I've seen some of you guys post videos from your iphone using Harry's Lap Timer app. Does anyone know of a good one for the Android phones? I just bought an HTC Sensation, and looking for something similar. Thanks.
Trackmaster by Trackaroo is the app I use. It won't do the overlay of data onto your videos itself, but you can have Trackmaster to log your laps in the background and have your phone record video in the foreground. After the event, you would need to combine the data using software like Dashware or RaceRender on your home computer.
With much difficulty, I was able use Race2ChronoAVI to create a video of the gauges and then I used some handwritten AVISynth scripts to overlay the gauges onto my track videos. This was fine for watching the videos on my home computer, but this solution did not let me upload my videos, since the overlaying is done on-demand.
Depending on the video format your phone creates, you might be able to use Windows Movie Maker or similar to overlay the video created by Race2ChronoAVI onto the phone's video. I take my track videos with a GoPro HD, and MovieMaker could not handle the GoPro HD format. Thus, I had to look for other solutions.
If you don't mind a 3-minute video length restriction, you could just use the free version of RaceRender.
Ultimately though I decided to buy Dashware since it handed my GoPro HD video natively and it has some real nice overlay options.

Here is an example of what RaceRender can do:

What version of Windows Movie Maker do you have? The one I have is able to handle the GoPro files. It takes a while because it needs to convert it from mp4 first, but it does come up and allow you to edit it in the end.

(Ultimately Dashware was so easy to use I decided to just pay the $50 and enjoy that product.)
