Blackenedwings '06 IX MR build thread
Yeah, he's stupid fast. I think I shaved a lot at the end of Sunday once Jordan showed me a couple of places I was losing a bunch of speed (Turn 4 and exiting the 'Bulb). My suspension is still set up real soft and pushy, and I need some real tires, but I felt really great about the course. I had tons of fun the whole weekend, and everyone was cool to hang with. Thai even gave me an extra manifold bolt... ....which I just remembered I forgot to return to him when I couldn't use it. Sorry Thai!

How does Thai always happen to have any random Evo part that an Evo brethren needs???
Thai is a beast man, I have to learn some tricks from him, but we're going to be competing against each other hopefully in TT2, so his tips were things like "you don't need brakes they slow you down..."

Thanks so much man! I had an absolute blast. I really appreciate everything.

also, turn the boost down. less power = more better traction

Hey blackened, question if you don't mind. Need a new clutch soon and safe bet seems to be Exedy Twin HD. Is that what you're running? If so any issues? Have any experience with other clutches like Quartermaster? Guessing you don't launch the car which is a big consideration but still wondering if any issues with all the high RPM shifting you do under extreme circumstances. Ever had clutch fork pop out?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ok, just registered for TT2 at Thunderbolt next month, got my hotel, and trailer ready to go. The car is up at Agile getting my boost creep issue fixed before it goes back on the dyno and scales for classing. It's looking like I'll be around 425 whp with a competition weight of 3285. I'll post the exact numbers when I get them. We'll weigh first, then squeek the best P/W ratio I can afford with my mods. I'll be running Hoosier R6s on my RE30s for this event. I've never run on slicks before, so I'll spend some time the first day just getting used to the grip.
Jordan, I haven't heard back from Jake yet, but presumably I need to pay for my TT license before the event? I assume its an annual fee in addition to the annual membership? I also need to pick up a transponder. Is everyone using the AMB TRANX260 still?

If you don't want to buy the transponder, AMB does a rental option that a pretty decent deal. http://www.mylaps.com/en/products/mx...transponder/77
If you're going to be doing a lot of TT in the future, might as well just buy one.
Its best for you to contact northeast director Jake about your TT license. There's form that you have to fill out for Jake and national director to sign. TT license is an annual fee of $10 on top of members fee.
