Well, for all U historical fans, Williams has yeilded to $$ and nostalgia by signing another Senna to their final seat: http://www.f1reports.com/f1/article/13922/
This is Senna's last chance to shine...has to beat out Maldenado in order for him to move on to bigger and better.

I blow hot and cold when it comes to Ferrari. I have loved them [60's and 70's], hated them [80's and mid 90's], loved them [Schumacher days] and now intensely dislike them [Alonso days]. I suppose my allegiance is tied more to the drivers than to the team itself. Originally Posted by honda-guy

Ferrari has a long history of cheating, breaking the rules, doing underhanded things and strong arming people to get their way. Yet, they are the pinnacle of the sport regardless of how they have finished in the championship since the Kimster last won it. I just feel that it would be a feather in the cap of Newey to go there and maybe finish his career as well. Imagine the resources at his disposal as well as the funding. The team would be at his beck and call like Todt/Brawn/Byrne were during the Schumacher days.
I could never see him go to HRT or Marussia or Caterham. That would probably be a 5 year building process before they would be competitive with RB, Ferrari and McLaren. Even though Newey took a very uncompetitive Jaguar/Red Bull team and made it what it is today, it took a lot of time and effort. The fact that Ferrari is thinking outloud and the fact that Vettel has indicated that he would like to drive for Ferrari tells me that this could well happen in 2014 or so.

Ron Howard is producing a Formula 1 film about the 1976 season battle between Niki Lauda and James Hunt as well as Lauda's near fatal crash at the Nurburgring. They are using actual F1 cars from 1976 to make the film and also are filming at the Nurburgring. Should be a good follow up to "Senna" and hopefully will bring more interest in the sport. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/17/r...ing/#continued

Just checked out the new exhaust rules, will be interesting to see the different ways the teams deal with the restrictions.

Reactive Ride Height systems are now banned, I would be pretty pissed if I was Lotus right now since they were previously given approval from the FIA. I wish the FIA would stop banning all of these pioneering technologies

i knew it was too good to be true. i didn't know how anything that can dynamically change effect aero would be legal.

I don't know how they thought they'd get away with it in the first place. Moveable/adjustable parts of any kind that are not the idea of the FIA are almost certainly going to be banned.Originally Posted by xVforVelocityx

Good find. First the FIA said it was legal. After Lotus and Ferrari put a lot of effort into the system while other teams were developing their own systems, the FIA, in its infinite wisdom now decides to ban it. You would think that the FIA could have stated this more clearly before initially approving it. Innovation is the mother of invention. I personally love it when teams have fducts, blown diffusers and now active ride height. Originally Posted by xVforVelocityx

I wish the FIA would stop banning all of these pioneering technologies Crap like this has been going on for at least 50 years, maybe more. Back in 1969, Appendix J of the regulations stated that movable aerodynamic devices were to be banned. This was due to the flimsy strut mounted wings F1 teams were using in response to the Chaparral 2E, 2F, and 2G. Then, in 1970, Jim Hall debuted the Chaparral 2J grounds effects car. Even though it had teething problems, it was definitely faster than the McLarens. So, what did Team McLaren do? They went to the FIA to get the car banned because the fans used to create the ground effects were "movable aerodynamic devices". Everyone knew the rule was meant for the spindly high mounted wings, but the FIA had its way and Chaparral left Can Am for good.

i think the fia interferes way to much with the racing. i can see they being worried about driver safety but this last season at least had some much better racing going on with more passing even though Vettel dominated.

Yeah, this action definitely shows that the FIA has its' head up the a***s...this system was approved by them last season in the next to last race , I believe, for Lotus. Others followed under the knowledge of FIA approval...they then spent big $$ to incorporate same and now they come out that it is illegal!Originally Posted by GG06MR

several teams have threatened to leave F1 to start their own series because of the crap the officials keep pulling every season

You all will love this recent quote from "an FIA insider"..."Lotus and Ferrari seemed 'unconcerned' with the ban."...what...are you kidding me..."unconcerned" about spending a significant fraction of their budgets on something that was approved and then deemed illegal!!!?? This is how the FIA communicates...through insiders leaking something they hope is true yet knowing that it is not...FIA hear this: YOU ARE A BUNCH OF HACKERS...go forth and find something else to do that you are actually competent at...like making bubble gum and such.
