BBS SE/MR wheels suitable for track use?
BBS SE/MR wheels suitable for track use?
They are nice and light and fairly wide... are they suitable for a track wheel? Seems like a light factory wheel might fail under extreme use (sticky tires etc). Any advice? Thanks!
I have put thousands of track miles on my MR BBS wheels with no issues. I have ran Star Specs, NT01's, and now Hancook RS3's.
I wouldn't really consider them a "factory wheel" because They are BBS. It isn't like they are some Hyundai wheel. Haha.

I've always thought thats why the MR's had the "higher quality" wheel. Don't really think BBS would dress a line of cars with a mediocre quality wheel.

The OEM BBS wheels are plenty strong for track use.

^ You are out of your mind. The BBS wheels are strong as hell. I went of track and managed to hit the backside of a corner curb at well over 70mph. The wheel, coil over, and lower control arm all took some brutal punishment. However the rims stayed together and allowed me to maintain as much control as possible. Any other wheel would have been in pieces.

Wow that pic is a great testimonial. That thing looks brutalized but the tire is still on there.
I also thought the SE and MR wheel was the same just different finish. I don't know all the year differences though.
