^ agree. Sounds like these tires would be great for TT if they hold heat better than A6. But no NASA contingency forTT though, only for racing

and getting hurt with the 245 BFG's being treated like a 265. You think the 225's would fit on my 9.5 wheels?

I think 225 on 9.5" wheels would be stretching it, unless you're going for that hellaflush look

Accordng to BFG, they recommend up to a 9in rim for their 225's (keep in mind how much wider BFG's run than other tires).

For Pw/Wt and points, I need to stick with the 245 DOT tires. BFG 245 gets hit with the added .4. So, the question is:

Hoosier A6 245 VS BFG R1S 225?

They are probably pretty similar in size. The 245 A6 is not a big tire. Order one of each, mount and report back

Jeremy, Did you guys get any data that says the tires are faster or was this just a test fitment testing day?

Andy, I have read that the smaller size BFG's are not as overly wide as the bigger size's. Also, i kno you are pretty much set on running a 245 vs a 275. But, i kno that Nathan did some testing on running both sizes and it might be something to talk to him about.

The difference is 22.4 whp to go from a 245 to a 275. Is that worth it?

We'll have to see i guess.

I will be curious to see. It sure would be nice to run a 245 tire if you can prove that it is enough tire.

No we did not use any DA. And no, the primary focus on the TnT was to dial my suspension in. And we were successful there.

22.4 whp may be a lot, depending on what you are starting with. If you are already over about 350-375, then I would say no. Josh Dunn has been very fast here on 245 width hoosiers. Personally, I'd take the extra width over 22.4whp.

You understand this is not something I plan to try. Just a suggestion for the other guy.

Depends on the track. Road America with mostly straights, I'd take the power.

I'm still on 9.5in wide rims. If I step into a 275 tire, I should find some 10-10.5in wheels. Then I get to add my rear fender flares.

If I were to add another 100lbs, I could squeeze in some 275's. hmm... Right now I'm at 398whp and about 3000lbs.

Here's a pic of used hoosiers next to new BFG's on matching wheels. They look to be the same height to me.
