Nico could have avoided it if he wanted to, plain & simple.....
I view it as a racing incident, but between teammates on the 2nd lap, really....
I wonder about nico's intent.....especially since nico balked his start....
yeah, im saying it, im willing to bet nico boned the start on purpose, so he can sling shot on by hami going into les combes, especially since hami was boasting about his starting position & perceived advantage...however vettel beat nico .

nico is totally at fault, since there is no way in hell he could have done anything on that turn. But to imply he intended to crash or cause damage to Hami is laughable, especially at this stage in the season. There is so many points to be gained, it makes no sense to take out your primary rival now. Last race, like in Senna/Prost, thats something else.
As for start, wouldn't it make more sense to start as strong as possible, and "let" 2nd car pass in order to get sling shot on the straight. If you sacrifice your start, you are taking risk of falling behind not only Hami but others...
I think people are reading wayyy too much into this... Hami is a cry baby. Sh*t happens, and it happened to him this time. Nico has a point to prove, that he is as good as Hami. He tried to put his mark, but chose wrong place and time, and caused unnecessary collision. His fault, ofcource, intentional , I don't think so.

Forgotten in the post race discussion is that Vettel, very briefly, was in P1 (overdid turn 5, I think, and lost the lead back to Hamilton). Even though Mercedes is dominant, you're right, messing around with starts is NOT a good idea.

looks like Caterham is charging 300,000 euro per race to any driver that is willing to pay.
In Spa they had Andre Lotterer, now for Monza they will probably have Roberto Merhi ...
This is ridiculous. Soon other teams that are struggling financially will start doing the same thing. F1 is becoming an amusement park, where you can rent a car for a race-weekend.
If they can't afford to participate, they should leave. Will see how long Bernie will allow this crap.

Sounds like it's for the team...

Driver changes and additional drivers
Teams may use up to four drivers during a season, all of whom may score points in the championship. A driver change may be made with the permission of the stewards any time before the start of qualifying. The new driver must use the engine and tyres allocated to the original driver.
On top of this, in each of Friday's two practice sessions teams may run up to two additional drivers, though each team is still limited to two cars. Any holder of a Super License may run as an additional driver, but stewards must be informed of a team's plans before the end of initial scrutineering on the Thursday prior to practice.

Enjoyed the race as well except Im not a fan of the flat billed, ear ringed complainer
I walked the track during the race via Google Earth street view. Track is older & much narrower than it appears on TV
Amazing to watch Ferrari struggle at their home track. Heads are rolling Im sure
Edit: Just watched the podium interviews (amazing crowd). ROS speaks Italian
Im of Italian descent, so that just warms my heart

great race. i was worry for a little when hami had a sh!tty start and said on the radio he had problems. but when he was able to maintain pace in 4th place, i know the race was on. announcer kept saying hami only got by rosberg because rosberg screwed up at the chicane. the way hami was catching rosberg after the pit stop, he would have caught up to him in a few laps and go for the pass. it's not hard to pass down the front straight when you got draft and drs. the race between 4th-8th place was very good also
