Official 2014 F1 Discussion Thread

So as we've entered the off-season and barely had the F1 Gala, the geniuses at the FIA have been hard at work to come up with ways to further ruin the sport.

Pit stops:

It was last week revealed that there are plans to introduce two mandatory pit stops at all grand prix for 2014, however, the idea was not accepted by the teams at Monday's meeting of F1's Strategy Group and Commission.

Luckily that one was rejected.

DOUBLE POINTS:

The FIA has announced that Formula One is set to award double points in the final race from 2014 in a bid to keep both championships alive

This one was approved.

Cost Cap:

A cost cap in Formula One is coming, the FIA said in a surprising announcement on Monday. Although many teams are facing financial difficulties, the idea of compulsorily capping annual budgets has remained highly controversial.

I'm excited about the new engineering gizmo's that the V6T will bring to the sport, but these regs so far are not sitting too well with me.

Thumbs down on the double points. Think about this year, Vettel and Red Bull would have just won by 25 more points. Lol

Sure hope Schumacher recovers from his skiing accident. Between him, Kimi Robert too many accidents and surgeries...sport doesnt need to lose people like this

I know Vettel is great friends with Schumacher, even being mentored a bit by him sometime back. I hope they talk and he learns something from this

It looks like Schumi will make it. My thoughts and prayers are with him, though.

The RB10 looks.... OK.

I don't think the regulations leave a lot of leeway to have a good looking nose and still have good aero.

Eh, who needs practice. It'll be survival of the fittest anyway.

Interesting how the RB had the least amount of laps of the Renault powered cars.

I wonder who will show their cars first, with regards to straight-line performance.

Has speed trap data been produced / published for the test's in Jerez?

Redbull surprised me in fp1 and 2 I figured they would be 5 seconds off the pace or more. Nice to see a bunch of teams all relatively close to fast time
