Official 2014 F1 Discussion Thread
I don't think there was a question that the RB10 was going to be quick, I think Button in Bahrain had Vettel pass him on a long sweeper and he was surprised at how quick it actually was. Like you said, it's mostly the reliability of the Renault unit that most people are doubtful about. It was interesting to see how much steering input Vettel was having to put in from some of the on-boards last night, will be interesting to see how they do in the race.
I can probably be put in the RB haters category (more of a dislike), mostly because I find domination boring (regardless of what team is dominating). It'll be interesting to see if they struggle at the beginning of this year, but I have a feeling that by summer break they'll probably be doing very well again.
Very excited for qualy tonight.

Wow--what a difference. I agree w/ team Force India owner Moglia when he stated that 'we need the sound back', while he was standing right by the track by a pit-board section.
REALLY disappointed in the sound--they sound kinda like Indy cars now...
I was fortunate enough to see some races live in the glory V10 days & the NOISE was GLORIOUS--RIP...
The GOOD news is that the drivers really need to DRIVE these things w/ the lower downforce & power delivery. Manhandling is mandatory.
AND... Because of that--we're seeing ****** in the Red Bull armor--FINALLY! Sorry, but I revel in watching Vettel struggle. With the new cars, his magic powers have been stripped. Hat's off to young Daniel in his debut.
As much as I hate to admit it, Hamilton is THE fastest driver in the sport--but he seems to have issues w/ focusing the entire race. Team Merc will be a contender this year.
All that being said--FORZA Ferrari & Alonso!!!

They sound like 4G63's out there
I bet in person it has more of pleasing grunt
Maybe if they had open O2 dumps it would sound better
All in all, amazing technology that has leveled the field
