Oh, and I guess Vettel's RB is slower than Riciardo's on the straights. If you don't believe it--ask Vettel...

Just like last week with Riccardo/Alonso, Riccardo came out of the pits next to Alonso, and from the blimp you just watched Daniel walk away on the first long straight they got to, has to be a terrible feeling.

Ricardo's qualifying trap speed was ~3kmh faster than vettels....

always interesting to see how teams & teammates have their aero set-ups identical or not.

I also suspect that teams are using different power unit mappings for different drivers (maybe pushing the envelope a bit with one, slightly conservative with the other?).

^^^That was interesting. A solution not easily achieved for the other teams

Either a rule change for next year or the other teams will have to make the change for 2015

EDIT: In keeping in sync w/an F1 teaching theme this is a nice tutorial on the current engine ERS system

Thanks Rob. Interesting explanation of what appears to be a simple add-on aero device, but is not

Another race in the books

Enjoyed it! My quick notes: Vettels "Tough Luck" / Massas pit stop / Kimis lack of pace vs Alon

first few laps was crazy. the two car contacts got really lucky that the cars survived. so vettle is not that great of a driver after all, it was the car all along. who would have guess.

I wouldn't write off Vettel based on a single race.

Vettel's refusal to allow DR by did probably cost him a shot at passing Alonso, though.

Vettel has been slower than Ricardo every 2014 race, not just a single race.

Alonso walked away from both RB's, however I finally fell asleep once I saw Nico was quickly gaining over 1sec every lap on Alonso.

Wish we could at least get a wet race so it would level out the playing field a tiny bit, though Lewis is still easily the fastest in the rain.

Personally, was getting a bit tired of the "Yes Yes Yes And Yes Again" rant.

But not a big fan of the flat billed cap & double earring either
