whatever slip on mocs that fit the bill from DSW, currently rocking these:

rounded heel, slippery sides, thin soles, comfortable, my wife like the way they look. and I can take them off and put them on with no hands, bonus!

Great info everyone.

Really great people and they will take their time trying to explain and help you find the right equipment. Ron is the owner, and being a racer himself, can help you make the best possible choice. Give them a call, I'm interested in what he has to say/offer. Even if you don't buy from them their knowledge can be really helpful.

Cheers,

Yeah my feet are fairly wide as well, so I'm not sure if anyone really makes any dedicated racing shoes large enough for my feet... I'm going to shoot an email off to the DiscoveryParts guys here soon and see what they say.

I have my own secret race shoe.. and now I'm going to tell you all the secret...

swim shoes.

The cheap thin slip-on kind with the rubber on the bottom.

Five Fingers FTW.

Pretty much any "minimalist" running shoe is what you're looking for if the toes creep you out. There are versions without toes, and they're usually not too wide.

Racing shoes are usually pretty thin, albeit not as much as the FiveFingers and the like.

I like Simpson mid-tops. The current models are called Fusion Driving Shoe or Circuit Pro's - $139.95. Very comfortable. The High tops are available for $99.95. Personally do not like low tops.
