I am going to change front brake compound from the PFC 01 to the older PFC 83 and hope it bites down harder. We have been having problems with the rear mono block NASCAR PFC calipers. Bleeder screws weeping, bypass line fittings leaking and stainless lines leaking. Finally during Sundays entire race and the last TTU session I had a constant good pedal. Still I need more brake. We can leave the PFC 01's in the rear but the front has to change. 83 compounds are available for $100 a set. The car needs a thorough maintenance and suspension tuning. We have a full test afternoon on Thursday before July 4th racing at Lime Rock. A spring rate change is on the table of testing that afternoon. My only problem is tires. I needed to win tires at Thompson for Lime Rock. With two 4th place finishes we were competative but fell short in the hour of need. If anyone has new tires not being used let me know. I can't afford $1300 for a new set......
Whats that saying, cheap, reliable, fast, but only two out of three?

.9g is not remotely close to adequate if you that is measured when hard on the brakes at high speed. Are you sure there is not a hydraulic issue or something wrong with the calipers?

We do not run a brake booster and are down to 5/8" masters. May have to re design the leverage of the pedal.

I was gonna ask the same, but I remember he has custom mounts, ducts, NAScar calipers and such so it's totally different animal to balance. A lot of the braking has to do with grip too though right. On old R6's in a DE I was getting 1.3g's going about 7/10's on the pedal. I didn't have the datalogger with slicks but it felt like significantly more.

Without any insight into your calcs, my first thought is that 5/8" masters will require a lot of pedal travel in order to generate the line pressure that the OEM system provides. 5/8" is on the smaller (smallest available?) side and the OEM brakes have a large piston area (assuming you are using those or something similar).

How are you overcoming the 12.19" rotor diameter limitation that is inherent in nearly all NASCAR calipers?

.9g braking is at or below street car, street tire levels.
