My first track day!!

I just had my first track day at california speedway this past weekend. It was amazing. I wish I did it sooner. Anyway, I ran the roval course and I was wondering how I did. Has anyone here ran this course and what were your times? I'm stock and my best time was a 2:12.383. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on running one of the fastest road courses in the U.S

Its my home track & have been around the circuit many times. If you want to compare your times check out the lap time thread on SoCalEVO here (see post no. 9)

Good job. Running Fontana hard is not for the faint of heart. Turn 1 will always get your attention
Give yourself a few more sessions & your car should be capable of a sub 2:02

yeah, getting into a turn a 130 is nuts. I thought I would be braver about it but I only held it at 115 mph.

IMHO... if you are at your first track day ever and you are worried about lap times, you are doing it wrong. Fast lap times will come with experience. The important thing is that your instructor is happy with your progress... not how many cars you are passing in HPDE1.

Track days are fun, but let me offer some advise: do not worry about lap times. Drive a consistent line and practice ocular driving. You will go faster once you get familiar with the track, and your car. There is always a time in your progression when you know just enough to be really dangerous to your self and others. Once you progress into advanced solo groups, then you can start TT, or self timing. Until then be smooth, and consistent lap after lap that = fast. Trust me you fastest laps will seem almost boring.
Have fun out there!
