I'll post up more later with dyno graph to show you the torque curve. If any car eats 4th gear its this one.

Sweeet!! How loud is it in the car? I know dynos are noisy though. I love gear noise!!

Outside the car you cant really tell anything.

Inside, Ron said he could notice 4th gear wine a little more than other gears, but it wasn't that noticeable. This is however a full race car so everything is noisy.

I think the noise will be very tolerable for street use. We'll find out as we plan on using Brandon Ranvek's Evo for One Lap of America, and it'll be getting this same 4th gear.

Some dyno pulls:

No it really isn't.

This really should be the perfect solution for any road racing evo. I'll have full group buy details soon.

Here is the dyno graph. The killer of 4th gear is the torque ramp. As you can see here, we are making 438TQ at around 3600rpms.

This is the 1.0 gear ratio. Everything else remains stock in the trans- 124mph at 7500rpms. (Dyno roller speed, we'll get real GPS based speed when we hit our first track day)

this is looking very promising. we have a lot of tracks in the northeast that would benefit from a slightly longer 4th gear

This is exciting. The 1.0 ratio is where its at. I've always wondered my only American cars come with it..

We are just as excited.

no longer have to worry about killing 4th gear. better gearing ratio. helps reduce the wear on 5th gear synchro.

Its a no brainer really.

the real problem may not be the trans.

What clutch are you running?

Ok, if you are interested in this straight cut 4th gear, contact Ronnie at RS Motors.

He's taken on all the testing of this, purchased a bunch to get the price down and save on individual international shipping. He's been a big help with all this.
