Decibel limits at RACE tracks. Tell the idiots that decided to buy a house next to a race track to pound sand. This **** baffles me..

There's an iPhone app as well to measure DB, within a couple DB or so accuracy so use that to test your options.

Just don't forget to factor in the distance and angle of measurement. 91dB measured at 50 feet and a 90 degree angle is going to be a lot easier to hit than 91dB at 3 meters at 45 degrees from the exhaust, for example.

True. I don't think the mic will be directly behind the car until you round a turn. Should be decently far enough away. Hard to say.

Just let off the gas going around turn 5. I personally think the sound restriction is dumb. Houses in that area are millions of dollars, why buy a house next to a race track and complain about noise?

I run at Laguna twice a year and generally have had no issue with this old Vishnu exhaust as seen in the background. Yes the 3" CAT is functional, and there's a 3" downpipe and Titek v2 housing upstream. Intake is all stock.

Sadly last weekend they started giving me a meatball saying I was close, though I've made no changes since the last event where I was told I'd only blown 90.8db on their meter. Whatever, just lifting past the mic worked. Also, I've never seen them roaming with a meter so I'd not worry about it.

Did you ever go?

if you were running a cat and still barely passed, there is no way i will LOL. i have a resonated test pipe, a cherry bomb muffler as a second resonator, then the rest of a BR exhaust, including the very small Magnaflow muffler.
i'll have to build a whole new exhaust or at least swap the stock cat in and cross my fingers.

use a resonator if its must also make sure your car is fully warmed and try to go for inspection as late as possible. When the air is warming up the car can drop 1 or 2 decibel vs early morning or late night measurements. Also the tip down end exhaust also can help.

As mentioned above, I have two resonators.
Inspection?
A slip-On tip is definitely in the works. Pointing straight up.

Most people point them away from the booth or towards the left/Driver's side of the car.

There is no inspection. It's measured on track.
