Colder Plugs for Racing?
Colder Plugs for Racing?
I've seen/read people say you want colder plugs for more power/boost, what about for stock power levels but doing a lot of road racing/autox? Better to run 1 step colder? Any adverse effects of a colder plug on normal driving?
Looking at the IKH24 personally.. or should stock power level just stick to stock plug, no matter the application?

Totally different plug, size, width, etc. But same here- stock NGK plug - replace every season. We're gonna have to strip your Internets privilege so you stop driving yourself crazy lol.

Although I just saw this necrobump and just learned something so lets let him be for now...
I like to get on "research kicks" every once in a while and scour the net for information

I went with a colder plug (IKH24) when the RED went on. The only difference I noticed was reducing the spark plug gap reduced idle quality a little bit which is understandable . Started at .025 and later went with .018-.020 for all the boost.
I think for a stock turbo car the stock range is fine. In the end it comes down to how well its tuned for track/abuse not just a spark plug type.
