A sawzall will easily cut the bolt, theres plenty of room between the arm and knuckle. When they are rusted in like that theres no pushing them out.

I remember my buddies car having a front control arm bolt rust into the sleeve of the arm. With the flex of the bushing an impact had no effect in trying to shock the part free. But IIRC, we just kept hitting it with penetrating oil for like 1-2 weeks and keeping a big load on it. I wasnt there doing the work, but talking with him a long the way. I feel like there was a jack involved and long breaker bar to keep a constant torque. Eventually it gave up and we got the bolt out.

Penetrating oil does take time, and I think Project Farm (youtube) did a test on effects of different types. Might see if his best recommendation (if you can stomach his voice...) and some constant load will get it free.

if you put pressure on the nut side(using the same tool), the stuck bushing will press on the bracket which might be enough hold it in place when you use an impact wrench on the bolt head side.
sawzall is just out of the question if it was my car

Having had to do it on multiple client cars, its very easy.

Or you can take the ole gas axe (oxy acetylene) to it, but that will likely have collateral damage.

How’s it going guys- Here’s some photos. I’ve had my car for 12 years,
had the motor rebuilt with a fresh short block three years ago, then had the Tran redone shortly after. And haven’t had much time to drive in over the last couple years. The registration was due and I finally got around to getting it smog. So I drove it around a little and then something happened, I got bit by the modify the evo bug again and started getting back into the car usually it just sits in my garage so here’s what I’ve done in the last couple weeks.

what started out as I’m just going to clean up the car and really make it spotless has turned into a fun project and modifying it again a little bit nothing wild

Trunk looked kind of rough

The first wire Tuck I did I had ordered some materials prior to starting and then I found out they weren’t gonna come until the end of December so I had to switch plans and re-order from someone else. Then I wasn’t happy with this new material after I was all done, so I ripped it all out and did it again.

Getting that shifter to work with the 6 speed and fit under the stock center console is proving to be a major pain....

I believe the 5-9 rear abs sensors are all the same.

boy things are real quiet out here.

for my fellow evo track guys - i've built an online time attack system that we are doing beta testing for - https://qualytimeattack.com/ - it's for your own car, your own laps - do your track day like normal, upload the lap on youtube, and upload on our site and compare with other drivers who run in the same class and track.

it's been years in the making and everything is ready to go - if anyone's interested in beta testing, please pm me.

taking a break from the evo. Really tired dropping the trans. The new ACT twin needs to come out for an "upgraded" version.
I got an ND so i'm going to be in noob mode for a while. kinda false-hoping it wont need as much work since there's a proven copy&pasted formula for set up. and also hoping there are more shops available to help me out. Did the evo ever had a phase where the community is in agreement which coilovers to get? I didnt visit the forums before covid so i must have missed it
