There are live tuning patches for the Evo ECU. I've used it. Unfortunately the developer never really continued with it.
Understandable, given the limited userbase for Evo ECU tuning. Hondata has the benefit of being useful for millions of Hondas on the road. There aren't many Evos in the world by comparison.
I've got the drysump tank in back of the pass area, mounted the catch can to the cage above and behind it right up against the rear pass window midway. So I need an extractor or the expensive rally style vents to pull the fumes out.
I am looking into link G4+ as a affordable alternative, to make mapping easier and to run ITB intake manifold at some point..
Motec would be great but funds are not there..
@kikiturbo I've been tuning the vipec pnp v88 (older ) with great ease. Of all the learning to log and tune I did on the stock ecu I made leaps and bounds with this. It is definitely at a price point and imho competes well in its market.
Ya, I'd figure pegasus or somebody would just have universal parts like that but it doesn't seem that way. I'm tempted to use one of those reverse ducts instead of having to remove my plastic windows and redo them for the Rally style ones.
Also, here's a vid on that ACT twin coming out. Skip to 6:30 for the details. Actually looks like an extremely well engineered clutch and I think it's what I'm going to move to.
ACT is sending one out to me, hoping to get it before the Ring closes for the winter season. It's going to be tight!
season finally wrapped up for me, looking to get a few things done early in the off season.
- get a front diff - debating between cusco & ats carbon hybrid
- replace the rear dfif - cusco vs ats carbhon hybrid
- get a new radiator - is this the one most people recommend (https://sheepeyrace.com/products/she...hi-evo-7-8-9)?
may look at a few other options to see what else I can do with the car in the rule set, but that might be it for me. really not looking to half gut the car/start pulling amenities
7 months in and finally making some progress. The SSB stuff is looking pretty . Having some helper spring clearance issues with the racefab stuff...but everything else is on point. I'm hoping for it to be on the ground ready for the next phase of the widebody here in a few more weeks!
Do you mind sharing a ball park price on the Xshift box, and what ratios you went with? They don't have pricing on their website and I'd rather not bother TRE for a quote since buying one is a ways off for me.

Roughly you're looking at 12,000 depending on exchange rate, That includes gear kit, 900nm upgrade and shipping. I went with a basic 13/56 with .89 6th gear for the stock motor. I also bought an additional final drive 14/54 for another $1500. I haven't built the motor yet and wasn't sure when that would happen so I wanted options. Additionally, I bought the MME paddle shift system, with xshift actuator for GPRP and that was another like $2500. Not that I was going to go directly to paddle shift right away, but with how long parts have been taken, I figured I'd rather have it then not. Also again, I need to build motor and covert to DBW for full advantages anyway.
Add on like 4500 for a triple carbon...or whatever and you're pushing $20,000 for the hard parts of everything you really need to support the trans.
Also I went through UMS as Tony is building the car.

I'm with you. I bought a G4x fury and it's a very familiar/similar interface to other aftermarket ECUs......it's not Motec level but I'm not sure what's bad about it? Available online resources and customer support is great. I was afraid of using emtron or ecumasters because it felt more foreign and I wasn't sure about the support.
RS Motors / Shawn Krebsbach took the Street Mod win at Gridlife this weekend. Jackie Ding was about a half a second behind in his Supra.
With all of the development and sponsorship going into Jackie Ding's Supra, not to mention the 2 extra cylinders and almost 50% more displacement, I've been expecting the Supra to start catching up to the Evo. Hasn't happened yet though.
Hell yea, I just stumbled upon your IG today haha. I can't say I'm not jealous of your TTX setup, that's some true baller ****.
Curious to see what the whole build will end up looking like. Do you know what series you're going to run the car in?
I think it will mostly be an HPDE car while we get it worked out. If all goes well, and I get seriously back into it, I imagine I will do a lot of time attack stuff. I've been rockcrawling IG:@AZrockcrawl for the last few years...so this was a tribute / ultimate build for my buddy Robi (robispec) who passed away this year. There is some really cool stuff...like Bosch ABS and what not...just for fun. Still a heavy pig...but fun car.
Other plans include widebody, which I have two kits set to arrive to day. I just have to decide. Voltex or CWEST.... Pretty sure I'm going with the Voltex stuff and then have AMB fix all the aerodynamics...but we will see. So if anyone wants or needs a widebody GT CWEST kit...let me know
