I'm sure there is but I haven't seen it mentioned.

Im pretty sure English Racing is using the 18k on their Luckydog car they just put together with a customer. Its setup for lapping 12h's in a day so not high power but Im betting they have some dyno numbers of it.

They're using the 18k because built by mitsu it stands to be more reliable than most other offerings.

It'll make 450whp ore more an E85.

FP has them, no need to go through a dealer.

Morrison Fab stock frame with EGT bungs on each cyl in the works. Now onto 2021 turbo decisions. 18k vs 71 vs FP54. In order of:

Spool: 71 > 18 > 54 ??
Power: 54 > 18 > 71 ??
Reliability: 18 ------------------------>54 > 71 ??

I like the xona center section, but the 71 is cheapest to replace every season/failure, but the 18 may spool better AND last longer and make slightly more power to move up to ST2?

I had to go back to a 71 because I couldn't bring myself to pay for another Green failure. I'm not unhappy. The car is just as fast but more responsive (I never upgraded fuel pump beyond a 255). So far, I don't think that back pressure is causing much of a problem (the only reason I went to Green).
I do hope to stumble across a decent BB MHI Green or Red, just to make me feel warmer and fuzzier. I may even suck it up and buy new.

So...you don't want to pay for another green only to see it fail...but you want another green...?

I had a JB that ate itself. Hoping a BB may fair better.

Given your reliability concern, I'm surprised you aren't going with the cast FP manifold. Will the tubular manifold really help much with the smaller stock frames? I thought it was more for maxing out the larger stock frames at high boost/RPM.

It's more for flexibility of sensors then it is power. It's next to impossible to get a good weld on a cast iron manifold so you're left with little choice. I've ran my Curt Brown cast for YEARS but alas it's limit wasn't durability.

Turbo's are like any other part in my opinion, no matter who makes it when it's operating that hard for that long it's gonna break right. My 71's usually last 1-2 seasons, my Stock one lasted several years. I'm just wondering if ya'll have direct experience with the 18 or 54.

What style bungs are you doing on the manifold? I'm trying to make that decision for my own MF order. I'm currently using a Zeitronix ZT-2 w/EGT and stock ECU (Tephra v7 SD), but I really want a better datalogging setup so I can log fuel pressure and other things. When I placed my order, they weren't thrilled about the 1/8 NPT EGT I have now and preferred the larger 1/4" style bung.

Ya that's what morrison recommended too. Direct stainless weld on 1/4, he's using Haltech's bungs which I'm pretty sure both the bungs and most of these 1/4 sensors are just rebranded Exhaust Gas Technologies, which is pretty nice stuff. I have 3 different ones I'm gonna take to the shop and see what the AiM dash can or cannot see. But then that got me thinking the alerting was nice, but the stock ecu won't "do" anything about it. Hence the current standalone dilemma.

Did the GCG garret g30/25 on a stock frame thing ever come to life? THAT would be the ticket.

The last post I've seen about the GCG set-up had power numbers that weren't that impressive, but it was also a more stockish car. It's been a while. Not sure about current status.
