You're right but your stuck on the wing still. All you say is true, it's mad stiff and putting said force on the TOP, BACK, of the trunk via the uprights. Thus the TRUNK deflects because all of that hardware is floating and not tied down to anything. Try hanging off a stock trunk mounted wing and you'll see what we mean, only takes 40ish lbs.

Pretty much. u can watch the front middle literally lift. especially if you dont have a full framed stock lid anymore.

I have big end plates on my wing too and the guys on the pitwall reckon u can literally watch it twist as you increase in speed. Its almost like having active DRS haha

I've sat on my trunk with no observable deflection. Like it's been said, multiple times, replace the rubber mounts with metal and you won't have trunk deflection.

I can see my trunk lid slightly deforming on the front edge of the wing mount, so looks like it's lifting a bit. That concerns me.

You didn't plastically deform steel with downforce...

Next time I'm back in Chicago I'll take a vid of my trunk not flexing.

Heres how much my trunk flexes with about 25lb load pushing on the strut.

Yep, but they are screwed up really tight. You have to close my trunk with a little bit of effort.

I have to slam to my trunk to get it to latch. No deflection, fixed with < $10 of hardware.

Thats not going to change the fact the front edge is lifting from flex in the hinge.

Exactly. and hes just wobbling it by hand. air force on the whole surface area at say 180kmh will be well beyond what your capable of applying by hand

and just to add to the above ^ the biggest thing we found is its not the rubber stops or anything pushing down thats the issue. its literally the front edge twisting up away from the car that was the most noticeable thing. Especially if youve got a proper wing that generates decent downforce and its quite far back on your lid.
