I'm not.

As long as the wing is mounted at the outer edges of the trunk (like stock) where it goes over the chassis there will be minimal deflection.

Can you take some pics of the elevator bolts and the underside of your mount?

Unfortunately not. The car is still back in Chicago and I probably won't be going back until the most recent batch of splitters are cut which won't be for like another month. It's pretty basic though. Just use a longer bolt on the rear most bolt location and put a female threaded adapter on it on the inside and then thread the elevator bolt into the female adapter.

I've tried the adapter/bolt brace method and they just vibrate loose and make a hell of a racket.

How about the lid itself? Thinking of using big washers on the underside to grab more sheetmetal too.

Big washers on the underside will only assist with it not pulling out but wont do anything with the forces pushing down. The mounting plates to your wing are quite wide too so I honestly think you'll be OK as is.

Plus do you even drive that car!?

But man clinical rotations and stuff are really hard on the family. Starting next week I have to split my days off to Monday and Weds to cover for her and be with the kids.

Hence the car sits lol. But we're also moving into winter so its all the same I guess.

At what point does a wing need to be chassis mounted? How much pressure can the trunk take? I want to add a real wing this winter and don’t want to end up with any potential of it coming off mid-corner. The wreck of the Element Tuning STi at VIR in the uphill esses really sticks with me.

There is no set point when a wing needs to be chassis mounted. All big wing failures I've seen are because of failed carbon trunks or the wing itself. Trunk mounting to a metal trunk will never give you issues unless you mount it poorly or give inadequate load distribution.

I wonder if some wing failures may be the result of trunk deflection though, where the AoA gets beyond the spec that the wing can withstand and then the wing comes apart?

No. Too much AoA just means considerably more drag. As long as you're not running some crazy triple element wing you'll be fine with a trunk mount.
