Exedy Purple has me thinking.....
For a full cage with nascar door bars, X's all around, should only be about 3-4k. Adding extras is when you get to 5. When I did mine in '09 it was 2500 base but I did seat mounts and a bunch of other points.
Prices on cages varies wildly. Shops that only use TIG welders on their cages tend to be more expensive because it's more labor hours vs shops that use MIG or a combo of the two. How many points and interbars there are, along with how many of them need to be bent also get factored into price. Some places offer painting as an extra charge. If the cage is going to have wider door bars or door bars passing through the B pillar it's more expensive. If you want bars gusset welded to the chassis that also adds cost.
Usually a basic roll bar AKA half cage or 4 point is around $2500, 6 point adds short diagonal door bars like pictured above, if you want a basic 8 point cage it adds A pillar bars going from the top of the main hoop down behind the dash and uses full length door bars instead of the short diagonal style found in 6 points. 10 points usually penetrate the firewall and connect into the front strut towers, you don't see them often because lots of classes don't allow going through the firewall.
The style of door bar can also change price a fair bit. Straight X bars are pretty easy and quick to make but Nascar bars that allow easy ingress and egress are a fair bit more expensive. There's also 3 dimensional X bars where the center of the X is pulled outward to make the door bar stronger in a side impact.
You can add as many gussets as you want, most of the time you'll only see the A pillar bars gusseted to the A pillars. My cage also has a gusset from the main hoop to the B pillar on the driver side. Some people go crazy with gussets.
Then there's interbars, or short diagonals, These are used to triangulate bar connections to make them stronger. For example my cage has diagonals between by main hoop and my A pillar bars. It also has diagonals from the main hoop to the rear down bar. Usually in rally style cages you'll see a long diagonal that goes from the bend in the A pillar at the top of the windshield down to the middle of the door bar. Some cars add diagonals at the bottom of the main hoop to various places. Some cages will put bars between the rear shock towers to make them more rigid.
Some cages have anti intrusion bars, these are usually found in the footwells. These serve as foot and leg protection in the case of a single corner impact where the wheel or suspension is pushed into the bottom of the firewall.
And then there's various other things that can be done to make the cage stronger or simplify things on the car. For example my car no longer uses a factory dash bar. There is a dash bar in the cage that connects the A pillars together below the dash panel. My steering column and interior fuse box mount directly to this bar as well. My dash panel also mounts directly to the cage since there's no more brackets in the car to support.
In the end, it's your car and outside of what's required by the rules, it's entirely up to you to decide what you want or deem necessary for your cage to be safe and support any other functions you desire from it. Everybody will give you a different quote, my only advice is don't go whoever gives you the cheapest quote. The more questions the builder asks, the more likely they're going to give you what you're looking for.
