Maybe because SM, but Im the guy going overboard spraying stuff off between runs. I spray tires of course and on really hot days dual driving we turn the tires one way to get a good coverage then turn it the other way. I give the FMIC, relocated oil cooler, and radiator all a good soak. And then as temps are getting even hotter, I spray the engine bay sheet metal and sometimes the IC piping. I don't know if it helps, but it doesn't hurt... lol.

Natonal events typically have enough time to not worry as much, but local events can be really short between drivers and its amazing how much heat you can make in 60 seconds.

I had an ETS 3.5" but that was pretty heavy, around 25lbs. Plus the bar and plate is great for short bursts but its heat capacity also means cooling is hard too.

I switched to the Blitz tube/fin that's only about 2lbs heavier than stock but a decent bit bigger. And it works great for my power (425-500hp depending on boost).

EDIT: I also only paid $273 for it cause I happened to order it when a shop was moving and clearing out inventory. Not even sure you can buy them now but the next option for Tube/Fin would probably be Plazmaman

I'm also running the Blitz tube and fin. Bought mine from RHDJapan.com - cheaper than I could find in the states at the time. Unsure it's really making a difference but the stock one was fairly beat up when I bought this car - so why not?

Price has went up, for obvious reasons: https://www.rhdjapan.com/blitz-intercooler-se-ct9a.html

Yep I jumped on that too when we all found out how light it was. Tempted to get one as spare with all the parts being discontinued.

It has a huge amount of heat capacity and ready for a big ol turbsky. But for AutoX we get no cooldown air to remove that heat and just sit with all that heat going no where.

Looks like we're up to 4 evos so far out of 35 signed up for STU/STUL:

Hill
Vitolins
Feustel
Schneekloth - myself

I know there's another one out there, plus I might have a co-driver.

I'm trying the new RE71RS's this weekend's event at MOWOG - DCTC up by Minneapolis/St.Paul. It took almost 2 hours for Discount Tire to mount 2 tires on the 18x10's in the 285/30/18 variety...

These seem to run wider than both the Nankang and Falken as a FYI.

Pics (285 RE71R is mounted to a 18x10 - other tires are dismounted)

265/285/295

Wow you got the new stones from tire rack? I have a set on order and my last update was basically: pushed back, shipping date unknown. Really curious to hear your thoughts on fitment and performance!

I didn't actually.

I have a parts guy who works at a local car dealership. He and the company are kind enough to offer tires at their cost. I believe I only paid like $280 per tire. Ordered on Tuesday - received on Thursday.

If worse comes to worse, let me know. I'd be willing to bring a set down to nationals if needed. You could then get your tires mounted up there on Monday.

And literally 20 minutes after I posted that I got a message from TireRack that they'll be here in 4 days . Excited to try them. Hope I don't regret not getting another set of Nankangs.

Go figure! Glad to hear you'll finally get them!

I was also going to try another set of nankangs, but wanted to give these a shot to rule them out or not! I will be comparing them vs an all A052 setup this weekend and then stick with whatever works best for the remainder of the season.
