595-RSR alternatives
595-RSR alternatives
Occasionally autocrossed Evo 9, taking 18x10's off with 595 rsr's and going to 17's. 17x9.5 weds to be exact. What other tires are close to the 595 in performance but available in chunkier sidewall options?
What about the RSR in the 255/40? As you know that Fed 255 measures more like a 265/40/17
Did those 595 RSR's work well for ya? I have 2 sets of 595 EVO's that i just run on the street. They are a well built tire & works for me

Yep solid tire didn't know if I was missing the new hotness somewhere out there for that price..
That being said they did seem a little bit greasy compared to the Dunlop's previous to them... Couldve been the blacktop more than I think though. Not all abandoned parking lots are created equal.
Worth mentioning is it's holding back a gen 2 ts3582 and 2.4. car runs in street mod but is mostly for fun.

Why are dropping down to 17 and what offset did you run to fit 18*10 and any spacers or fender mod ?
the decisions to go down to 17 revolve around the slightly better ride and more predictable handling that a little more sidewall gives and the end of grip. That being said, the RCT4's are pretty light wheels for their size and the Weds dont save nearly a proportional amount of that weight, but hopefully some benefit is gained there too.
18x10 +15 were the specs. the rear quarters were pounded pretty hard with numerous tools.

Whats a better tire? cost/performance ratio, and the actual cost itself fits well on the federals, but something coming in around 800 a set is acceptable.

did you run a +15 on a ct9a????
Cost/performance could be a reason not to look into using a better tire, which is what I was asking. I just thought maybe the price diff wouldn't be so bad going from an 18" federal to, say, a 17" a052 for example. Sounds like you've considered all of that.

Ya know.. I thought they were +15 but maybe they were 25. I'll have to look again.
