My Lancer's 1st autocross

I took my ride to the autocross at California Speedway today. What a blast! I defintitely got my priorities straight for mods... need some better rims and tires first, then I'll deal with the suspension. Man those stock tires rolled (very hot day and I was running 40psi +). I didn't have to worry about shifting into 1st, just kept it smooth and never lost enough speed to upset 2nd gear. Overall, the Lancer performed rather well, even beat a few WRXs.

BTW, when are you Lancer owners in So Cali going to auto-x? I had the only Lancer there out of over 300 cars, and 15+ Subarus were there! I know you guys are out there. Come join me at Buttonwillow Oct 5th ot 6th (or both if you really want to have fun!)

urban, did you run Street Stock or Street Modified class? Better yet, was it SCCA sanctioned?

Yeah, it was SCCA. I could have run in SK1 (a regional category), but didn't want to wake up at 5am, so did the STS category later that day. I plan on building my car into STS anyway... rims, tires (general consensus is Falken Azenis), intake, strut bar, springs. I'm glad they added this class in the SCCA book... it really caters to the overabundant imports and rice rockets.
I should mention for those who don't know STS is a street tire category while the stock, prepared, and modified categories favor racing tires.
