kevind has a challenge
well, mr macallero reached a new low IMO...
first, he can see my work. i said that in mulitple threads. i don't want him copying my tune on the dyno then "optimizing it". i want him to do his own tune, how he would tune his own customer. starting from my tune is not original work on his part.
also, the street is the only way your going to know the EXACT NUMBERS to place on the tables for the street. tuning on a dyno will get you very close, but there is always some tweeking that can be done on the street for how the car reacts in real world conditions.
also, ECUflash doesn't go to the decimal place
its resolution is only whole numbers in timing.
his challenge was quoted on the first post of this thread, now he is making tons of conditions. my only conditions were that its my tune vs his tune, not my tune vs him tweeking my tune.
that is correct. thats why i take physical measurements. and yes, i use a torque wrench.
i'm busy too, a full time job and a business, not to mention my wife and dogs. i agree to the full argreement, with no provisions. the provisions you've added have added provisions. in my world, its run what you brung, not run what i brung.
(edit, i posted this here because they were sneaky on DI, he posted that, then they locked the post)
I originally started this thread to advertise my tuning services. In typical fashion it turned into something completely different than the threads original intent.
I posted a challenge to anyone who tunes on the street. The only taker, does not want me to see his work, so be it. My challenge stated that you can not find the EXACT NUMBERS to place in the tables out on the street. This can only be measured on a proper dyno! The "challenge" was to take some one else's work and find out with the dyno if the street tuners numbers were inputted correctly to the decimal place out on the street. The street tuner that accepted the challenge did not want me to optimize his work on the dyno(the entire point of the excersise), but only start over with a new map(which I also accepted). This completely defeats my purpose of posing the challenge.

It does not take a lot of intelligence to understand you can not input the correct numbers without doing a physical measurement. Do you want to torque your cylinder head with a calibrated torque wrench or take an educated guess with a socket and ratchet?
I am a pretty busy guy, unless a date is set by the other party(my available dates are mentioned previously in this thread), I have a lot more productive things to do with my time.
So again, unless the other party concedes to the full agreement with no provisions, I am wasting my time. I have been in this field to long to give out free work, if it will not let me prove the person(s) making the argument wrong.

that is complete BS! I said it before and Ill say it again, the only way to tune a STREET/TRACK car is on the street/track.... you want a dyno queen with big numbers, so be it, take it to the dyno, tune the ever living crap out of it, and then tomorrow, take it to another dyno in another shop and repeat step one, tune the crap out of it.
If you want to go to this guy then go I say, but if you want a real tune, under real conditions, and consistent power, go to a good street tuner (AKA kevinD).... will every value be 100% perfect to the 9th decimal place NO, will that happen consistently on a dyno no... it will happen for the one tune he logs and and it looks good, but take it off the dyno and put it on later, this will have changed.
It is a complete waste of your time dealing with this guy.......

Iagree...
I had Mark from turbotrix tune my Evo IX 3 times on three seperate (turbotrix) built motors. And all 3 (yes three) times they blew up. The first had a hole in piston number1,3, and 4. The second motor I i got the car back and drove only 20 MILES, and the timing belt tensioner fell out letting the cam gears chew away the timing belt bending the **** outta the valves! And on the third they neglected to send me any dyno information about the car at all, nothing but a bill. And suprise suprise, a week later boosting only 19psi on a TT built block with a GT37r it blows up as well. Also horrible coustomer relations to say the least.
And i understand ( to all you TurboTrix lovers) it may not have been his fault due to changes in elevation, humidity, bigfoot, UFO's and yadda yadda, but common...three outta three times, and all of the (turbotrix) built blocks lasting an average of only a week a piece. Not good odds my amigos, and it cost a ton of money and driving time.
KevinD road tunes, and i have had him tune my VIII, IX, and X, and they have been without fault, and i drive like i stole the **** 24/7 ;D
Props to KevinD

lol if he doesn't want to agree to let me tune it to my exact specifications to the 1 hundredth decimal place.... come on he really thought he could just tune off of yours? That guy just dug his own grave in that thread, and gave himself a hmm 100% handicap lol?
Just wanted to let you guys know that I did unlock the thread because I am still hearing people talk about wanting to see this challenge happen and I don't think it should have been locked when it was.
I think its really a pretty silly argument...but thats just my opinion and I'm just another *******
Anyway, continue with the discussion/challenge if you guys decide to do so.

I would love to see this happen and both of you guys tune from scratch.

Those guys/gals are more than welcome over here just as we are more than welcomed over on their site (well, we may not be welcomed on DI.net but at least we're allowed over there..... I guess).
