OK... so this weekend I wired the fuel pump to be switched like the stock pump and wired the stock pump to be on 12v constant. That helped my fuel trims (although they are drifting now).

Still getting smoke and stink on decel.

Today I pulled my catch cans and returned the PCV system to stock.

I think that has solved the problem. Richard helped me fix a couple other things tonight (shot oring on an injector, injectors not seated(!), small leak on a line on the surge tank, oil change, rear end fluid change (amsoil sucks here and the transfer case btw)... you know, the little stuff

So crossing my fingers I think we're back in business!

Let us know if it's all a-ok. And then I'll see you at the next autocross right?

Just to follow up on this, I installed a fuel pressure regulator this weekend. My base fuel pressure was over 100PSI. Ya that's not good.

I couldn't regulate it at all with the FPR so I took the pump apart as shown in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-pressure.html

My little screen in the fuel return line was clogged way the hell up with some fiber looking things. I think the fibers were from the walbro cotton filter we'd had on there before I put the 8/9 sock filter on.

I also drilled out (5/64) the return orifice as per page two of that thread.

Now my base pressure is ~50psi. I need to retune since my STFTs are at 20%+ at idle (and if I push the car I can't get below 13afr! [throwing P0171, system lean in the process]).

This likely explains some of the issues I was having then self tuning in getting the AFRs higher. I was shooting for ~12 and couldn't get above 11.8 or so no matter what I put into the map. There was simply so much fuel pressure in the system that it was ramming fuel through the injectors.

Retuning on Thursday so we'll see what happens (more power? ).
